This is an update to this post - One of my Marines was Killed yesterday 4 Marines arrested in killing of sergeant, wife

Jan Pietrzak and his wife Quianna Jenkins-Pietrzak Staff and wire report Posted : Tuesday Nov 4, 2008 10:46:26 EST RIVERSIDE, Calif. — Four Marines have been arrested for the fatal shootings of a Marine sergeant and his wife in their Riverside County home last month. The sheriff’s office said Monday that the Camp Pendleton-based Marines ransacked the Winchester home and likely killed the couple for financial gain. Sheriff’s deputies discovered the bodies of Sgt. Jan Pietrzak, a helicopter mechanic, and his wife Quianna Jenkins-Pietrzak on Oct. 15 after receiving a call from the Marine Corps because the sergeant had not shown up for work. They had been bound and gagged, according to local media reports. The suspects include Pvt. Emrys John, 18; Lance Cpl. Tyrone Miller, 20; Pvt. Kevin Darnell Cox, 20; and Pvt. Kesuan Sykes, 21. Officials told the Press Enterprise of Riverside, Calif., that a fire had been set inside the home in an apparent effort to destroy evidence. John, Miller and Cox are being held at Camp Pendleton, the newspaper reported. Darnell was booked at a detention facility in French Valley. The sheriff’s office says the district attorney’s office has agreed to file murder charges. Pietrzak, 24, grew up in Poland, moving to the U.S. with his family at age 10, the Press Enterprise reported. His 26-year-old wife, whom he married in August, worked for the county health department. I hate seeing this shit. I used to see it NC, but the thing that pisses me off is the suspects go to civilian court, not to a general court martial. The punishment should be a firing squad after conviction. There is ZERO room for this kind of barbarity.
I'm not bust'n on recruters at all, but I can't help but think some of the applicants coming into the USMC have less than stellar backgrounds. More waivers being approved these days by the RSs? We had at least five murders in the three years I was in NC (2005-2008). Disgusting. I have to wonder what the reason for the murders were? It will be interesting to find out. |

WTF has happened to my beloved Corps!? What happened to our beloved Corps? We SNCOs aren't kicking ass on a daily basis like we're supposed to, that's what. Junior Marnines are being allowed to run amok without supervision after-hours, and the NCOs and SNCOs don't have their noses in everyone's business like we used to. Too much time for these yahoos to get into trouble. If we're going to allow gang members a second chance, then they're going to need constant supervision until they are old enough emotionally to be left to their own devices. That means privelages like living off base, off-base liberty, off-base liberty in civilian clothes, marriage, having a car on base, all of it-EARNED. It'll suck to for the Marines that can handle life like adults for a short time, but it'll keep crap like this from making the headlines with people asking where the hell the supervision is? My views have changed over time for a reason. If you question my reasoning, just go to the Jacksonville, NC Mall and look around. The riff-raff may only be 2%, but they stick out like turds in swimming pools for the rest of the world to see. Rant mode off.... |

I don't know where some of you get the impression that the members of our armed forces are choir boys. They come from all segments of our society and a large percentage come from the lower class. They do violence on one another frequently. Always have. When I was in the USMC for example, at one base in Japan where I was stationed we had a three stabbings, two murders, seven rapes, at least one drug smuggler, several robberies, as well as countless thefts and assaults. Some were Marines against ciivilians many were Marines Vs. Marines.

When I was at Geiger and then at TBS in Quantico we used to have some big time shit going down in J'ville and the Quantico area. The simple fact is our USmilitary pulls from society. Now, I know nothing of Marines, but Ft. Hood is quite literally, just down the road and B1 bombers do low level flight over my house from the base here.
Military guys regardless of branch, do this to each other constantly. It's life in the hood, just transferred to another location. All you guys snorting about the "financial gain" statement "because he didn't make much money". are really overlooking the fact that they would have killed them for $40 and the CD player. They don't HAVE to be rich. It's not mentioned, but i'd lay bets these guys knew the victims, maybe even in the same unit. |

Like I said, racial tension among younger Marines is a fact of life. If such a crime were admitted to, the ramifications are more than the libs OR the miltary would want to admit to or deal with. Race relations in the miltary are delicate issue to say the least. Whether anybody wants to admit it, there is seething hatred just beneath the surface of a some members. The actual facts will speak for themselves in this tragic case IF the facts are indeed released. |

During the time I was in, off the top of my head, I can remember at least 5 murders, 3 rapes a lot of drug trafficking and assorted violence and mayhem. Not to even mention the thievery. No one with an ounce of common sense would leave thier valuables unsecured.
All of it Jarhead on Jarhead. Arfcom tends to put military personell on a pedastel. Those who do this, need to get the fuck over it. The military is just a cross section of the society it serves. There's just as many dirtbags per capita in uniform as not in uniform. The structure of the military helps to keep a lid on the thugs, but it can't always prevent the shitbags from revealing thier true nature at times. Sucks, but true. |
