And that happens here quite a bit, apparently.  When it's general discussion of lawyers, they're scum.  But if *anything* bad or unpleasant happens, the first response is "sue tha bastards!".  Pretty funny!

I'd say Cops are most often critisied publically, But military and clergy are the most critisized overall.

Teachers, Journalists, and lawyers all get some mild critisism, but not the good azz-woopings they desirve! (All admit, there are a FEW good lawyers/teachers, and hey, there's a FEW winning lottery tickets too. . .).

Lawyers, hands down.  People use them  because they have to,  I guess they are a necessary evil.  I know of very few people that ever think of their lawyer as an all knowing hero.  

The only profession that has created a need for itself. Lawyers are the reason people need Lawyers.

You listed some easy targets:

It's easy to be critical of anyone who has the job of taking away our freedoms.

Easy to pick-on them, because they are highly paid.  Ditto lawyers.

Easy targets, because they so often don't know what they're writing about, or because they have an agenda.  I have a couple of relatives that write for papers in this state.  They aren't idiots, but they often appear that way from reading their articles.  When they aren't allowed enough time to do research or verify facts, it makes them, rather than the editor at fault, look bad.  Also, they don't have an agenda, but their editors do, so their articles end-up with a spin no matter what they do.

I mostly deal with stuff behind the scenes now, BUT, dealing with end-user (especially those Fat, un-happy cause thet can't get laid desk ladies!) sucks!

I'd say that if you profess to be a drag queen, you'll get a lot of well-deserved criticism.

How about car salesmen? I love how they are your best friend until the deal id done then they don't know who you are.

Even worse are the Finance guys. You walk iin with one payment you agreed to and all of the sudden that earlier payment was w/o "tax, title and liscense".

I especially hate these two groups because I spent 4 years being both. Now when I go buy a car, I flame these guys hard. If anybody needs help just e-mail. I've got word tracks for every situation....it'll save you lot's of money!!

When we do our job wrong, we are blamed for the downfall of whole companies.

Worse yet, we have NO TV shows (dramas or sitcoms) about our profession. WHy do docs and lawyers get all the media attention????

I resent your comment on teachers. If anything, you have but to look at the current salaries teachers get paid (especially in the southern states) for the reason you may see a proliferation of "bad" teachers, especially in public schools.

My mom is and has been a teacher for 16 or so years, in a variety of grade levels. She's won multiple teacher of the year awards and has even been in state teacher of the year competitions. She loves her job and loves doing the best she can do in making children into better people. It's sad with the amount of bullcrap she has to put up with from not only parents (who think that raising and disciplining THEIR children isn't THEIR own job but rather hers), but also other teachers and staff. It's sad to see that in this fine nation, wife-beating football jocks can get paid millions a year, while those who take up the 2nd most important job (after being a parent) don't get both the respect and the payment they deserve. And most of all, it's sad to see people like you say that most teachers deserve a good "azz-wooping". Get a life.

You all are missing the obvious one:  UPS Drivers.  I'm one and I've noticed not a week goes by without a post against us.

Auto Mechanics. People are very distrustful of auto mechanics because they don't understand the problems they have in the first place. If people would only be patient enough and build a relationship with one mechanic they trust, rather than bargain shopping, they would save a lot of money, and gain a lot of peace of mind.
