Nice looking rifle. Assuming it's off limits to civs, but wondering what it is. It's the one he uses after the bank robbery, which gets my vote for the best shootout in a movie.

No way man!  Gotta have a little rifle factory going.  Who has a preban to stud?

Yup, Sizemore's character had a Galil.

DeNiro and Killmer definitely stole the scene with their CARs, though.

Not sure on price but this one is a "movie gun" ( adapted to fire blanks) and I know some Class III people own them......this particular Mini-gun was for sale at one time

Kindstranger--is it just an FNC or does it have the documentation for the movie use?  Is it a short bbl rifle, or standard FNC?  Can you give me contact info on the Dealer?

Stubbs--there are only a couple of those for sale (transferable) to civilians.  Last time I saw one advertised (I think they said it was the movie gun) about 3 years ago, it was just about $300,000  (not a typo--$300K).

I think I remember that add for the mini-gun from the movie Predator.

Definitely something to drool over. It came with 2 sets of barrels, one for the movie industry to allow it to simulate full auto fire and one set of real barrels to shoot the gun with real ammunition.

I don't know how much it was selling for, just that they had it.  They have the most beautiful collection of class III beauties that anyone can go rent and blast. "hmm, lets see... do I want to unleash the suppresed mp5, the m16, g3, glock18, tommy gun, barrett 50 ("do you rent the .50 for firing inside?"  reply:"wait for us to go outside." "how about the 20mm?"  "uh, no, thats for West Va only.".  Firing Lane (706)546-6111

Luck me... I bought an FNC Para about 15 years ago for $450.  Last one I saw for sale in Very Good condition was about $2900.  The one used in the movie is a little shorter than my 16".

Fun gun, tie the sear back with a twist tie and it is full auto, not that I would ever do that!

If I'm not mistaken, I think I saw an ad in SGN a while back and the price for the Heat FN was $6500.

$2900 for an FNC is a little much.  I have a 16" FNC semi here, and an 18" with a S & H Sear (transfered to my Brother out of state), and they run about $2000 each + the sear (another $1600 + $300 for the 3 rd. burst).

Thanks for the info on the Firing Line.

I just called the Firing Lane, and found out it is a Full Auto FNC, has the correct movie documentation--it came from Long Mountain Outfitters, and has the Stembridge (I assume it is Stembridge) letter with it.

$6500

Unfortunately, that's about $2000 above the going rate for a full auto FNC--if I had some spare cash, I would consider it, but I guess not at this point.

16 FN CAL blue 223 Precusor to the FNFNC, MINT& Rare! 98% $8,495.00

Not quite an FNC, but its a precursor to it (I found it on subguns http://subguns.biggerhammer.net/nonnfaad.cgi?read=133694).

The FN CAL takes proprietary mags (as I understand it), so cannot use AR mags like the FNC can.  Kind of a shame to spend $8500 on a gun that you can only have 2 mags for!!

At least with a SIG 550, you can find the mags, even if they are expensive.

Ronin has better pace then Heat. not mention really good car chases.

Deniro's rifle is a Sig 550.

Dollar for dollar, I think I'd prefer a Sig 550. Don't know that much about either, but am familiar with Sig Arms (I own a few of their pistols) and am impressed with the quality of their products.

You´r right about the movie being good, but the rifle is a SIG 551.

A good-condition semi FN-FNC will run you about $2000-$2200.

A SIG 551 will run you about $12K, last I heard.

Up to the purchaser to decide if it's $10,000 more gun than an FN-FNC or a pimped-out AR-15.

I've never been a big fan of the FNC.  It was always the rifle in search of a market.  They are ugly in person, not exactly high quality in appearance.  Roughly finished with the upper (stamped) and lower (machined) looking totally mis-matched.

The rifle never gained a military following and wasn't very popular on the US civilian market either... until the bans.  Seems some people had the insight to manufacture a large number of registered sears for the guns so NFA types raced to convert them all.  The ugly little spuds which couldn't be sold all of a sudden were worth thousands of dollars.

I would much rather have a M16 any day of the week.

The full-auto FNC's are usually great performers though... very controllable and comfortable to fire.
