ok here goes.
as above 1 inch is 25.4 mm a yard is 3 feet or 3 x 12 inches or 36 inches Therefore in mm 1 yard is 36 inches x 25.4mm/inch=914.4mm a meter is 1000 mm or 100 cm or 10dm so if you want a metre in inches its: 1000mm divided by 25.4mm/inch = 39.3700 inches Did you happen to notice that working with the metric system just involves the shifting around of the decimal and you can do it all in your head? Simple isnt it. |

Well the Ross was a really great rifle. It was very accurate and used extensively by snipers.
The Americans on the other hand. used modified Mausers and Enfields. Hmmmm In WWII you used M1 Garands invented by an ex patriot Canadian. |

100 meters is 100* 1.093 = 109.3 Yrds 1000 meters in 1 Kilometer which is 1093 yrds which .621 Miles or 1 mile is 1.61 Kilometers( 1/.621). Okay.. I get it. |

The Japanese would have been able to copy all our stuff decades sooner if they knew how to do the conversion. That's why all their stuff was miniaturized until lately. Hey, you owe me big time--last weekend a buddy of mine was bored and decided to go invade Canada. The only way I could talk him out of it was to remind him that there was nothing worthwhile to do with the whole frigging country after he had it. You aren't from Quebec by chance, are you? [:D] |

Well we have to define the terms first...are you speaking of an imperial yard or common. The length often varies depending on the stature of the person doing the measurements. And for the meter side, are you using the original scale or the size agreed upon in the World congress of weights and measures or the standard using wavelengths? Perhaps we should also define the other words in your question to derive an accurate respose to your question....

Actually, Canada was once at the cutting edge of spacecraft production. Unfortunately, the inevitable teething problems that accompany any leap in technology caused short-sighted penny-pinching politicians to scuttle the project.

A Millimeter is useful for measuring small things. A Centimeter is too short. A Meter is a too long. A Kilometer is too short. A Milliliter is not enough. A Liter is not enough. A Gram is too light. A Kilogram is too heavy. |

My yard is bigger than a meter, in fact it is 46 meters by 104 meters which is 4784 square meters which is 1.182 acres. 1 meter (squared) is .000247 acres which is a very small yard. How big is your yard?
