My butane lighter doesn't have a window on it to show how much fluid is in it.  Can I top it off before I go on a trip or do I have to waste all the fluid and then fill it up?

Is it refillable? If so then you can top it off anytime you like. . It's not like you can overfill them or anything as it's in liquid form.

I've never had that problem and I refill butane lighters all the time for work. My lightsticks do have windows in them but I always refill them at 1/2 empty due to the dropping pressure.

Yes you can, but be careful if your refill can is more empty than your lighter the butane will go into the can.

So there is nothing wrong with filling a butane lighter before it's empty?
