I understand that under the Clinton administration, the military's numbers dwindled. (I know a few people that got out because of him)

I am curious as to what the numbers will be after 4 years of Obama.

Wonder if he'll have to come up with ways of recruiting to launch offensives against warlords in Africa?

we will just shut down our military and use the local rent a mercenary to fight our wars.

Hmmm what other great Nation started doing this and then lost it all..... Carthage? Had Huge mercenary armies, then couldnt afford to pay them , and they turned on Carthage.

The numbers got smaller under Clinton due to down sizing.

The numbers under Obama will only get smaller if he implements downsizing.

Today, our Platoon Sergent said in regards to our scheduled jump (Airborne) on 4NOV08 that we should remember to vote before the jump as it's election day, "that is," he continued, "Unless you're voting for Obama, then you can vote after the jump."

We're jumping from 1300 hours until 0100 the next morning.

There is absentee/advance voting on post on the 20th and the 22nd.

ETA: He wasn't supposed to say this: "Unless you're voting for Obama, then you can vote after the jump."

I've had to be careful with my political views over the past few weeks.

Of course, that doesn't stop me from putting anti-Obama bumper stickers on my car.

I feel you on that one. See, I thought we weren't allowed to have bumper stickers on our POV's relating to politics or anything obscene. But they're all over Ft. Rich...

Still, my truck will remain stickerless. I live in Anchorage... need I say more?

Yeah, nothing needs to be said about Anchorage. I'm waiting on my car to get keyed whenever I go down to Dimond or the Walmart on A-Street.

It came out a couple weeks back in the post newspaper about stickers--bumper stickers are good to go, but anything larger and signs are not. Of course, I saw some air fag at the PX with his Osama sun shade covering his entire rear window.

There are already many people holding off on enlisting waiting to see if Obama gets elected.

Not to poke fun at other branches, but the Corp's is at 75% McCain, and the three sisters are in the high 60's....

Possibly because some jarheads remember or hear stories from the Salts that once gurded the white house, the last time a socialist was in office?

There has to be a logical reason and I am curious.
