I have one, I haven't tried it of course. I replaced the head webbing with a "skull cap" from a MCU-2A/P gasmask to make it more comfortable. I always liked this picture so once I found one online I had to get it.

Seems like, while it may work great for shrapnel and the like, if you actually got shot, you'd sustain some serious damage.
Don't get me wrong, it's better than getting shot in the face, but you'd have to determine if the weight, heat, reduced vision, etc. is worth it. |
