It's abnormal. But if you'd like to come over to my place, I have around 14k pieces of .223 brass and I will allow you to be abnormal all you like.

Welcome to the disease!!!!
 Enjoy it as it is for now. It will mutate as the disease pogresses. Seating depth and charge variations for minutia of accuracy. Neck turning, primer pocket uniforming, weighing cases, K&M tools, Arbor presses and custom reamed Wilson Dies, Christmas cards signed by Fred Sinclair, subscriptions to obscure periodicals..... And then, the final stages. Casting and Swaging your own Bullets... A Friend told me... Honest! Get a handle on it, and enjoy it before it becomes an obcession. At least it's cheaper and safer than Hookers and Blow!!!!! S-28 |

Single stage here, I load more than I shoot right now, building up a stockpile
Wait till you shoot that first group, realise its total crap, and have to get serious about it! |

I'm not addicted, I can quit anytime I want to... now's not real good for me but I COULD, if I wanted to... he says as he orders more ammo cans to store his recently reloaded 9MM.
My winter reloading project is putting up about 20K of .38/.357 and if I get that done I want to start on .380 for my new LCP and my Browning BDA which is really nice to shoot. I still need several K of .38/.357 brass. Anyone know where I can get a decent price on at least 10K of either caliber ? I AM NOT ADDICTED TO RELOADING !!! It's those drug dealers at Dillon !!! I swear ! |

I think you're weird.
I don't necessarily mind loading ammo, but I don't really find it fun or addicting. It's just a means to an end...the more time I spend on the loading press is less time I get to spend on the range. |

Yep, it's addictive. All I want to do is l have every bit of my 9mm, 40 S&W, 45 ACP, and 223 brass all loaded up at the same time. Just once. But, now that I can go shooting much more often, plus all the brass I find at the range it ain't happening. But I keep trying. Hope you do too.
By the way, I don't give a damn if you type in all caps or not. I can still read it and it's a little easier on my old eyes. As to "shouting" in text, well, hell, I don't hear real well either. Carry on Troop. |

This sums it up perfectly for me. I remember being so into it that I would not buy a firearm unless the shop had dies, powder, and bullets in stock for its cartridge! I still reload now because I like the monetary savings, and I appreciate using custom tailored ammo for my guns, but it's honestly more of a chore for me than an obsession. |

It's the greatest thing in the world to sit on the couch in front of the TV after work, drink beer, and process brass.
When you break down the time it takes to process brass and hand load.. it's completely not worth it to save cash. But right now, reloading is just something to do between the weekends when I can't go shooting. I love it. ETA: Everyone on the board should at least have a single stage reloading stupid ETA2: Fuck Obama. |

I buy factory Ammo so I can avoid shooting my fine tuned reloads. I love my reloads. and would hate to shoot them.

Its addictive, but it wears off in a few years.
I still find batches of ammo I loaded back in the 80s. I have ~20 lbs of powder, a shelf of bullets, and buckets of brass in the basement. My loaded ammo shelf is pretty small. Anymore I load up what I intend to take the range the next weekend. |

Here's a tip.
Don't pick up or keep brass you don't have a firearm for. When I hit .40S&W critical mass I reloaded it all and bought something to shoot it with.
