Milwaukee Police Association endorses John McCain, calls Obama campaign's association with ACORN, 'disturbing.'

Posted: Oct 15, 2008 01:32 PM CDT

Milwaukee (WKOW) -- from McCain campaign:  John Balcerzak, President of the Milwaukee Police Association, and members of the Wisconsin law enforcement community endorsed the McCain-Palin ticket in Milwaukee Tuesday, simultaneously condemning the Obama campaign's association with ACORN.

"Today, I am here not only as the president of the largest single police union in the state of Wisconsin but also as a Milwaukee County taxpayer and law enforcement officer. I stand proudly with my fellow law enforcement officers from the Milwaukee Police Supervisors' Organization in support of Senator McCain," Balcerzak said on Tuesday.

"There are significant challenges in the years ahead that will be affecting law enforcement. I have confidence that the law-abiding people of our society and the brave men and women in law enforcement that protect them will work together to overcome these challenges. But to do so, we need to have the support of our president, and that is why the MPA has endorsed Senator McCain for President of the United States of America," he continued.

"The next president should have the judgment and credibility to instill a sense of safety in our society. This is why we have deep concerns over Senator Obama's weak record on crime as a member of the Illinois State Senate." Balcerzak said.

"The $35 million that has been spent by ACORN and the $800,000 that Senator Obama's campaign donated to the very organization that is the focus of voter fraud investigation is disturbing," he continued.

A lot of the union officials I used to interact with were never cops, just union / labor types. We used to call them Union Thugs. Of the dozens of cops I used to work with, I only ever met a couple that were democrats. But somehow our union, the statewide org always backed the dems.

It sucked.

FYI, wasn't Balcerzak the cop who was fired for bringing an escaped Jeffrey Dahmer victim back to Dahmer's house, to be tortured, raped, killed, and eaten.  I guess he really wants to be sure the mentally ill have enough to eat.

Wisconsin law enforcement officials endorse Barack Obama

Posted: Oct 15, 2008 01:34 PM CDT

Madison (WKOW) -- from Obama campaign:  Leading law enforcement officials, including District Attorneys, sheriffs and police chiefs from across the State of Wisconsin, announced Wednesday their support of U.S.  Sen. Barack Obama's presidential candidacy.

The committee of law enforcement officials, representing thirty of Wisconsin's counties from Douglas to Kenosha, will advocate in their personal capacities for Senator Obama's plan to create safer and more secure neighborhoods across the nation.

"Throughout their respective careers, Senators Barack Obama and Joe Biden have proven themselves to be strong supporters of the law enforcement community, providing them with the tools they need to keep our neighborhoods safe," said Jackson County Sheriff Duane Waldera, a member of Wisconsin Law Enforcement for Obama. "From Senator Biden's historic effort in the Senate to put 100,000 new police officers on the streets, to Senator Obama's lifelong commitment to creating safer and more prosperous neighborhoods for our families, it is clear that Senators Obama and Biden will provide law enforcement officials every resource and tool they need to effectively make our neighborhoods safer and more secure."

Yep...

The general attitude towards CCW by the MPD patrol officers was 'We can't be everywhere...'

Well, that and the perspective that if crime goes down, it reflects well on the PD, dead perps don't require booking/jail space, and 'no one wants to see more innocent victims'...

Typical.  Although I would say beat cops go 60/40 in favor of gun rights and individual responsibility.

The brass and 40% of the beat cops are elitists who look down on the citizen and think it's THEIR job to protect you, from everyone and from yourself.

I find it funny but very understandable that Milwaukee, which has the worst neighborhoods, and the worst crime in the entire state, is where the police union is pro carry and pro McCain.  In other words, the one area of the state where the consequences of liberalism have come to fruition.
