If Obama gets in, what stuff should AR dealers have most in stock?
What products are most at risk, given the political climate change he will likely induce. Don't want to get caught flat-footed, post your thoughts ... M. LaRue |
Lowers, Uppers, Mags, Ammo, Barrels etc... If he gets in you can be sure he will have every part on the ban list.
+1 except I think lowers may need to be complete guns! Mags are the really huge item that will be in short supply! The thing I fear is a new NFA Category for "Assault Weapons" with a designation of "ANY SEMIAUTOMATIC RIFLE, SHOTGUN, or PISTOL THAT ACCEPTS DETACHABLE MAGAZINES." Even if this was only a $5 fee like AOWs, everyone would need to register what they have or they would have an illegal NFA weapon not to mention the hastle of local CLEOs that will not sign! |
:: shivers :: does everyone really feel an AWB under Obama would trump the Clinton one in 94? |

Ammo
First move they will tax the shit out of it He promised to rid the USA of all -Semi Auto weapons...rifles,pistols,shotguns -All Assault type weapons (whatever that means) -leave single shot rifles and shotguns for hunting purposes (for now..for who?..for how long?) If this commie gets into power...look out...he will be the worst thing to ever happen to America in it's entire history...it would be better to have the British back in power... IMO |
They will not make a mistake of another "token" law based on cosmetic features. If they have enough votes they will get away from cosmetic features and move to regulate the real nature of what they want control over. Just like AOWs, SBRs, MGs, and DDs. I have absolute confidence that they will not make another stupid law! next time it will hurt! |
Mags and lowers would be what I would be looking for given a pending AWB-type ban.
Some LaRue folding shovels and (precisely machined) cache tubes would be appropriate.
We had that thread too: www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=118&t=397857 Funny, people there thought it foolish to bury a spare |
Ammo and magazines. Actually pretty much everything except add ons like rail covers, fancy optics, front grips, etc.
I'd stock up on copies of the Constitution. Prior to the rewrite.... |
Depends on the nature of a future ban, but i would say complete rifles and lower receivers and halves. And 20/30 rnd mags.
Are you worried? Is that why I haven't seen a Larue lower, cause I would totally love one.
ammo. period.
I don't foresee any federal level gun bans ever again. They got spanked hard for that, it'll take alot longer than 14 years to forget when the house went Republican. I see state actions coming though (in terms of firearms).... On a national level, get ready for ammo legislation. microstamping, hording limits, shipping restrictions (eg. need an FFL to buy), etc etcetc |
Well I guess nothing, because when they ban everything and start melting your then illegal to own inventory down it will cost you plenty.
What good will all of this do if there is no sunset, no grandfather and no transfer clause? What's the point? We are now at the whim of the government, the idea that we are free people is nothing more than a fantasy.
Complete rifles (whether available in parts or as a whole) and mags, mags, mags.
LPKs galore, although some seem to miss the importance of having a spare. |
this |
Everything...if he wins, anything semi-auto related will fly off the shelves. No doubt in my mind.
Ammo Tax is my bet - kill us by making ammo too expensive to shoot (other than deer hunting's 3 shots a year).
If not a tax, a lead ban. |
How about some official Black PVC tubes with a survival Dillo?
I'd suggest both dealers and buyers have lots of vaseline on hand. |
I can see that, just like in California. I anticipate California type restrictions nationwide. I mean hey it has worked so well for them. |
A complete machine shop + barrel making equipment and lots of bar stock. |
Put a pistol grip and a collapsible stock on a lower and it's bad per the 94 ban. Assuming we get another ban which I'm willing to bet we won't. USC with Heller as precedent will have something to say about one as well given that they never decided what arms are protected and what aren't. I find it hard to believe they would uphold a ban on AR15s. Maybe they could use some shitty reasoning to keep the MG ban in place, but otherwise, hell no. Although if you really want to be paranoid, shitloads of lowers that have pistol grips and collapsible stocks installed as well as making as many 30rd PMAGs as is humanly possible. |

With grease or desiccant packs. |
Well, after that happens, and if a confiscations ensues, than people will have to make the decision whether they should use 'em or lose 'em. |
Option 1: New Congressmen and A nice Impeachment trial.
Option 2: Anti-Liberal spray Option 3: Ammo, mags, levelIV armor, NVG, and ARFCOM uniforms |
This is why you should let us all buy your lowers now I really want to buy one, I've got tons of LaRue stuff, but no stealth upper....
I guess you've got to pay to play |
Dillo's! Cause Im going to wear the ones I have out trying to stay inebriated for the duartion of an Obama Presidency.
You've done well by introducing the SHTF seed packets and Bugout bags;
Next I would love to see how LaRue would sell flat-out survival kits. Perhaps a full kit with a weather/waterproof case for a rifle and room for other goodies, preservant lube, and instructions on how to use it. Maybe throw in a copy of a good book on resistance for good measure. Ideally though, you'd just have a TON of Pmags and regular GI mags on hand at a great price. I, too, believe that a new AWB would make the '94 AWB look like child's play. The gun issue is only dead until the b*stards get in office -- then they'll fire up the war drums. Look for the militia movements to make a sudden swing back into the limelight if Obama gets in office. It'll allow him to do what Clinton did and expand Federal powers inside the USA. |
Assemble a "Ban kit"
with a collapsible stock, flash hider, pistol grip and 30 round mag or two |
Lower Parts Kits (discounted)
Mags (lots of em) complete uppers - especially the shorties with pinned flash hiders (14.5 + FH) and assorted spare parts. Lowers are nice but are plentiful - and let's face it most of us are going for the $70+shipping el cheapos to stock up on. |
