I don't think rural kids should own guns.

I think ALL kids should.

My vote is in.

But why is the poll focusing on Rural kids only. The poll should be;
"Should ALL people who abide by the law, for the purpose of self-protection, protection of country and for sport, own as many firearms of their choice without restriction?"

Wait..Isn't that what the 2nd amendment was supposed to be for??

Simple, the media is caught with their hand in the cookie jar and is scrambling to save face.

For decades they have been on the wrong side of the gun issue and now as even anti-gun people are buying weapons and recognizing the need for self defense, the media has to back pedal and agree that guns do have a place in our society, "uh, for RURAL people".  They can't admit that most folks should have guns.

Still 80% Yes, @0% No.......

I didn't own firearms until I was 13 or 14...but I beleive all parents should introduce their children to firearms...if nothing else for safety reasons...and I strongly beleive shooting is a healthy, All-American pastime.

Cool.  This story brought back memories of when I was a kid.  Too bad city kids don't have very many places to shoot.

Yes, certainly.  We all did.

I can only imagine the urban/liberal horror when they contemplate rural kids with firearms.

We grew up in the countryside with pellet rifles, .22's, slingshots, bow/arrows, spears, a multitude of knives, slings, throwing stars, blowguns, blackpowder weapons, .30-30's, & etc.

How do you like that, gun-grabbers?  And all my friends were playing around with those weapons, too.

That is acutally probably a farely accurate breakdown of how people feel about this issue nation wide.

WHOOO!! WHOOO! Just down the road, 120 miles or so.  That's just it, how often does a kid that doesn't have a clue pick up a gun and shoot himself or some else.  You don't see it happen when a kid is raised around firearms and taught how to respect firearms.

How in the world did someone from MSNBC find Sidney, Nebraska?

I bought her this preban Bushie when she was 6. I guess it's a good thing we don't live in a rural area, as much as she likes to shoot it I would be broke & she would have the "no ammo" blues !![:D][:D][:D]

One of the "chores" I had growing up on a farm was trying to eliminate squirrels. Started out with a single-shot .410 shotgun. My dad got me a Smith & Wesson K-22 target revolver for my eighth-grade graduation, and I then used that for squirrels. I still have the gun and great memories of it and the trust my dad showed in giving it to me.
