in todays northwest herald. sarah brady anounces that she has lung cancer from smoking 2 packs of marlboros a day. she anounces that she is in a battle that she may not win. lets hope that it is a slow and painfull process. lets plan a pro gun ralley at her grave sight or funeral. that would be so much fun.

Mrs. Brady has spent so much time railing guns, and cigarettes finally does her in. Typical liberal hypocrite, "do as I say, and not do as I do." I guess she didn't see and read the U.S. surgeon general's warning that cigarettes could be hazardous to your health.

I hope that she doesn't realize her life was a waste and that her legislation didn't do anything. She might try to get some bigger bs passed and the dems will give her pitty votes. If we are lucky she'll go on vacation (Afghan trip?) and see the world before she bites the big one.

You guys are pretty heartless. If you're very lucky, you'll never have any personal experience with cancer, lung or otherwise. Odds are, though, that you will. Over 500,000 people will die from cancer in 2001. The lifetime risk of developing cancer is 1 in 2 for men, and 1 in 3 for women.

I wouldn't wish it on anybody. Despite the fact that all cancer related to heavy smoking or alcohol use could be prevented, it's still a pretty horrible way to go.

I get tired of all the people on one side blaming the smoker and then all the people on the other side blaming the tobacco industry. The smokers ARE idiots and the tobacco industry IS evil. There's plenty of blame to go around.

It is truly sad when another person suffers, but what of those that died that a handgun would have prevented.

After all, she & her husband [b]did[/b] go through a lot when he was shot down by the crazy (That's where things need to be controlled more. Psychiatric cases are far too loosely managed - but that's for another topic). James Brady is far worse for the wear now.
