GoatBoy also isn't helping himself by pissing off some of these biggest members on this sote. He is driving away members and thereby decreasing the number of people that see the ads, thereby decreasing revenue.

I am very sorry if I tend to question your motives with what you have to say. I do not mean to be, but I have seen someone post something like this and the next thing we know,.....Whooooosh! he became a moderator! Most of the guys know who I am referring to but for the sake of harmony here, I will not mention his handle. Even if you make sense, honestly now, tell us, do you want to be a moderator too?? Do you think that posting the above will get you the appointment?? No flames intended, it is just that after all the BS around here, I strongly feel that some moderators are more of a liability than an asset to this site. I have been with this site for a very long time now and I hate to see it go down the drain because of kiss-ass, power-drunk moderators. |

Guys, I am not interested in becoming a moderator. I can guarantee you that I will NEVER become a moderator here. But as a .com guy with businesses of my own I have enough to manage. Because of that I also know what GB is dealing with... empathy.

As a paying customer i'd like to see some of the mods stick to the rules. BOTD is a moot point. Premature locks have been placed by mods on other threads that contain no pics. Just because they may at some future point become heated. That is what we are arguing about. |

It was funny until some of the other cast of Hanna Barbara who wasn't involved jumped in. You leave a mistaken impression with someone and it quickly becomes fact. I still hold my original position that I do about this being GBs business. Servers and pipe to support a site like this are not cheap. I know because I do the same thing. StyerAug was/is a great guy. I dug his posts and thought he was really entertaining. AND he didn't get banned for the locked BOTD thread. He got banned because of his public attack on the moderator with the subject line 'Who the fuck is BigPig' People get these issues screwed up and twisted because they want to invent their own versions of reality. I have never once had a problem with any of the mods because I have respect for the community as a whole. I have ne need to defend posts containing risque material or scat porn. |

Ironically, a couple months ago, this same thing took place between SteyrAug and a Staff member ([i] me [/i]).
SA flipped out about a discussion on CHAT, came over here spouting off about it, erased all of his posts, and said he was leaving... Because of all of the crap, I stepped down and don't regret it for a minute, but suddenly he geared up and the BOTD threads became more frequent and pushed the limits 10 fold. This is a firearms site, and it needs to be treated as such! Frankly, SA rarely if ever posted anything of substance, and if he takes a bunch of his followers along with him, we would all be better off for it! We have had this type of "split" happen twice before, and both of the offshoot boards have pretty much suffered a painful death. |

Yes, the more things change the more they stay the same. This "moderator" issue comes up every so often- it's just human nature to keep pushing the limits, for some.
Frankly, I'd have either shut it down a long time ago, or gone to HEAVY moderation to set a more mature tone. But then, I'm not in charge, am I? [:D] |
