What is it with getting older and all the scars you have "aqquired" over the years begin to be really noticable? I'm beginning to look like a war zone.............

Built in defense mechanism.  The younger guys won't want to mess with you because you look REALLY tough.

I feel you bro.  All of my accumulated welding scars are becoming very apparent.

I'll take a real scar over a tattoo any day.  Tattoos are fake scars.

ETA:  I'm ready

You'll see them again, in about 30 years.

To each his own, I happen to love my tattoos and my scars.

I got all my "Good" scars in the first 20 yrs.

#1 was the one I got when, at 13, my brother shot me in the foot with a Marlin model 60 (Very painful at the time!).  #2 came at 15 while trying to stop my GF from stabbing my BEST FRIEND (Her brother) with a fish boning knife that just happened to end-up in my left fore-arm (Arterial blood DOES squirt don't it! lol) when I intervened!

#3 came when, as a machinist for CAT, I got stupid one day and used the wrong clamp to hold a piece of T-1 in a 1,000 Cinci press and the work piece (All 300LBS of it) decided to let go and bounce up and down on my thumb about 4 times before my brain kicked-in and pulled away from it.......sucker STILL says "HI" to me when the weather turns cold

If you have small cuts, use Bacitracin on them. It will help reduce scarring.
Otherwise use Vitamin E lotion to rub on the affected areas.
