Remember the whole flap a while back about Obama's birth certificate? The one that supposedly got laid to rest when Obama produced the document in question?

So what's this mean? Well, number one, it means Obama still needs to produce a valid birth certificate to prove his eligibility to be president. This doesn't necessarily mean he's covering something up --- most likely, what happened is that some joker at Daily Kos photoshopped a quick fake certificate, and the Obama campaign picked it up and just assumed it was real. (Obama's people, after all, do not doubt his eligibility; and Obama supporters are gullible anyway {or they wouldn't be Obama supporters} so the idea of a fake wouldn't have occurred to them.) But it still brings up the point that A) Obama is stonewalling --- why doesn't he just produce the freaking genuine certificate already? --- and B) his campaign presented a crudely forged document as the genuine article without checking its authenticity. Point A makes no sense, when Obama could put the whole issue to rest right away. (John McCain showed HIS birth certificate when people asked questions about HIS citizenship.) Point B is troubling in several ways. It indicates carelessness at best, and outright wrongdoing at worst.
