I have a guy sends me an im and a bunch of emails wanting to meet me for a ftf trade.
I ask him 3 times where he lives and he finally tells me, KY. I'm in TN. I tell him we will have to ship to each others ffl, no reply back. He's a member here, but no posts in the 2 years I looked in the archive server. |
Did he ask you several times if you were a police officer? Did he offer to pay in cash with no paperwork and no questions asked?
This is the ATF you have nothing to worry about. All your gun are belong to us.
No amount of $ is worth loosing your rights.
Ignore him if he's not going to play by the rules. |
Can't you do a ftf sale with a boardering state or some such?
No |
What you do is contact your local ATF branch.
Set up a sting with them. Then when the guy shows up to deal you can have one ATF branch arresting another ATF branch. Hilarity will ensue. |
With rifles, I do believe. |
I bought a rifle in Indiana from an FFL when I live in Ohio. Was this illegal? |
Not with a 4473 |
Well I'll just assume ignorance on his side
As for myself, I'll walk the straight and narrow. |
If you can buy from an FFL from neighboring states, why can you not buy from a private citizen? I've never seen such a law, only that you can't do it with handguns. |

+1 with pics or MS paint!!! |
Best idea I've heard so far. |
Now you, I might trust......nah |
So whatever became of the messed up/returned AK deal?
Any connection? |
Could be, I got my rifle back. |
Good for you.....I lost track of the thread while I was on the road. I know youll play it safe Clean'. |

I will even wear my gray silk suit. |
You better read the law again. FTF across state lines is illegal. |

Federal law. Sorry, but that's just the way it is. You can buy rifles (or shotguns) from FFL's of neighboring states but handguns must be shipped to an FFL in your state. Rifles can't be bought in neighboring states from non-FFL's. |

[ATF1] Bert!?!.........[ATF2]Ernie!?! |
So what if I live in one state 6-months and another for 6 months? which one is my home state?
That's what I thought, but I was recently told "No" by someone on EE. |
No you can't. |
Actually, you can buy a long gun anywhere in the country from an FFL as long as it is legal in your home state. As to the original subject, I had a guy in TN try to get me to do a FTF with him and when I said no, I never heard from him again. |

I like this idear! |
Correct. You CAN NOT do a FTF with someone from another state PEROID. Doesn't matter what kind of gun it is .
I was selling a weapon on GB. Had a guy want to do a FTF with me. He lived in a Indiana, me in Illinois. I informed him that it would be a fellony to do so, and a few hunderd more dollars wasn't worth a trip to jail. I said I could ship to a FFL in his state. He never got back to me.her I've always wondered if these were setups, or just dumb/uninformed people? As far as buying a long gun . You can buy one from a dealer anywhere in the country,if you are in their shop. |
Hmmm....I just had a guy from CA IM me asking if I would ship my 75 rd. drum I have for sale to him because he "likes converting them to 10 rounders".
Seemed a little fishy. |
Bait back, have him send you a picture of himself holding a sign that says "I'm not ATF".
As funny as that MIGHT be... never invite the man into your life. Matt |

Just like when your in a traffic incident, if the other party says " hey man lets not call the cops" or " hey i don't like all the mess with insurance companies" then there is something shady going on.
So when a guys says " hey man lets keep the gun stores out of it " They probably can't purchase a gun legally. I sold a gun via an add in the newspaper, my add clearly stated that the transaction would be done at the police station. I had guys ask me if their wife could buy it etc. I met one guy at the parking lot of the LEA, I said I needed a copy of his ID to turn into the LEA and he got out of there so fast the smoke from his tires could be seen a block away. All ways do your best to make sure you sell to a responsible person. The person I finally sold it to was a middle aged guy who had no problems with meeting at a LEA and also had a photo copy of his ID. |
That is damn funny! |
Just to make sure it goes as plan, I'd call the state police. They will go through with a arrest regardless. |
I wonder how many accounts around here actually belong to the alphabet boys?? I'm sure there are even a few team accounts just to snoop. Now if you'll excuse me I need to get back to my foil lined bunker. |

Note to self: Don't trust spectre556. He's one of them. |
