Looks older than a '96. I got two words for you...Promised Land...
It's a 1966. |
Become a slumlord......rent it out to welfare rats and tweekers !!
I think it is more the Airstreams and Avions that people are restoring now.
I did some work from a customer and she basically gave it to me. I towed it up to some property I have and am going to use it to sleep in until I order my vacation home in a few months. I don't need the kitchen or bathroom but I don't want to destroy this thing if people restore them. Kind of like how when we see some illegal alien that got ahold of a 1964 GTO, puts gold trim all over it takes out the original engine and put in the one he had in his Monte Carlo. |
That's what I want to hear. So there is no huge demand for old Winny's? |
This place is the #1 white trash forum on the web. How dare you underestimate ARFcom. |
This, especially the Airstreams. I saw some of the ones Ralph Lauren redid, they were amazing. Flyingrhino |
I am going to go out on a limb here and say the guys into restoration projects (other then muscle cars) aren't white trash. |

You obviously didn't see the pics I posted. |
I have to say,for a '66 it looks to be in very good shape-the paint doesn't look faded. How is the interior?
For it's age it is in great shape. The interior needs some work like new paneling but the fridge and stove are in excellent shape. I'm thinking if I tear the inside apart I'll just sell or give the stove and fridge away. The kitchen/bathroom take over 1/2 the interior room, if I gret rid of it I could put in a couch and dresser. This would be "guest" (kids) quarters once my house is up. |
man do you know how RARE a winnebago travel trailer is?!! that my friend is a real collectors item!
Exactly, it's off the zombie radar completely. |
Are you serious or are you screwing with me? |
+1 put some gun rags in the crapper, and you are g2g! |
you ever seen one before this one? last one i saw was over 30 years ago!! |
Why do you not need a kitchen or bathroom if you're going to be living in it? |
That's why I'm leaving it to the ARFcom members as to it's fate. |
I googled it and it looks like someone in TX had one on craigslist for $600, but the ad is deleted now.
Living in it would consist of maybe one or two nights a month when I'm out there working on my property. I can use a bathroom in town and eat at the restaurant there. |
What if you gotta go 'Big potty"?
I'll give ya $50 cash for it. |
Back in the early 80's I was a RV service manager, if you would have brought that
in for service I would have said: "Yes sir we can fix that." Under my breath I would be saying: "burn it already!" I hated old RV's Take that old shell and make it work for you GM |
Put on ebay with a minimum that you can live with. If it goes for that or higher, you win - otherwise do with it as you want.
If you do gut it out, consider ebay all the factory parts. The probably is someone who wants a 1966 factory Winni stove for a trailer or motorcoach.
I am sure a winni collectors board exists somewhere |
Refinish it. Add some armor plating, bullet proof glass, radio gear setup, weather monitoring station and a turret.
Dude - is that the one from SPACEBALLS???
ETA - LOL - I did NOT see the post above mine when I made it. |
Take out what you want but save it to be sold
Then when you get done, ARFCOM SHOOT |
Unless you are really hard up for a project, I am doing you a BIG favor... |
A big NO to ripping out the kitchen & head. You never know when you might need a bug out rig.
Do a little google search and look around. The prices some of the things are bringing are unreal.
Now thats funny.........
dude, don't trash a good BOT(bug out trailer). Clean it up and use it. Does the fridge still work on propane?
I've never been an "RV guy". I had no idea the fridge even ran on propane. |
Winnebago didn't make a lot of travel trailers - Their big thing was (and still is) motor homes. Personally, I wouldn't even THINK about gutting it until I knew for sure what it's worth.
You might post a thread over on the Vintage Travel Trailers forum at RV.net. If anyone knows, someone over there should. |
there is a big demand for pull behinds as the cost of operating a drive/live RV land whale is falling fast
Around here those are pretty popular during deer and elk season |
