It's my day off today and tomorrow. I'm bored to tears today so I called work and volunteered to work a midnight shift they were trying to fill.

What's wrong with me?

Just guessing, how did I do?

Am I wrong that I notice people who properly use "you're" instead of your" in cases like this, and get a happy feeling inside?

My English teacher in high school would deduct 20 points each time from any assignment you handed in that used the wrong form of Their, There, They're, or Your and You're. Needless to say, I learned fast.

I don't especially like my job, but often times I'll go in on Saturdays to try to get ahead a little, clean up, bullshit with my coworkers and so on.

I got 6 days off (creative scheduling on my part) in a row.  However, they have called me 3 times before the first 12 hours of off time to come in and "help them out".    Would love to do it, but they are laying off employees at the end of the year due to over staffing.   I feel that it is wrong to come in on a day off when someone else will shortly be on the streets looking for work.

In actuality, I took the shift primarily because I was bored. However, I also knew that if I didn't take it, someone else would be forced to, so I decided to bite the bullet for someone else.
