I thought it would be a great idea to send gift memberships to all liberal anti-gun congress people.  If they want to turn it down, that's ok, but still, 1st Freedom would be a good thing for them to read.

Are you freaking kidding me?  Sending a gift membership to a senator is the *most* asinine thing you have ever read here?  Good grief.  You have got to get out more.

At WORST, the NRA just got $35 more dollars to defend the 2A with.  At BEST, he reads the magazine once.  Jeez.  Ya'll need some coffee or something.

Haha... that would be great!

You forget that most of the people that support him are extremely anti-gun and have such a negative view of the NRA that it *couldn't* help him AT ALL to be associated with it.

Which is way he waits till he pretty much has the democrat nomination to do this. He has the democrat vote, now all he needs is a few gullible fools and he has the election.

Why didn't you just send the NRA a $35 donation instead?

That way you save the cost of paperwork and mailing the magazine and all the renewal promotional material.

I dont give a shit what he does or doesnt do or anyone else for that matter. My post was basically saying that if you are going to THROW MONEY AWAY, why not contribute to a site like ARFCOM or even donate to NRA or GOA.

While I appreciate the humor in your actions, I can't help gut think that you may have been able to accomplish a bit more if you had bought NRA memberships for ARFcommers, like me, who are not NRA members. Or, had given directly to the NRA-ILA. The NRA-ILA is one of the front line groups battling the antis here in CA, along with the CalGuns Foundation, and a SoCal law firm. Remember, CA sets a precedent. Some of the recent AWBs in Congress and other localities bear more than a slight resemblance to CA's AWB (ie, AW List, "Evil Features", etc).
Look at the sticky up at the top of GD. We have two members of respectable character running for the NRA board. Personally, I think that is the battle worth fighting for. The more voting members we have, then the greater our chances of getting folks on the NRA board that are EBR friendly.
