Not to flame, and I've only been here for a few months, but it this a usual cycle?

I just find it funny that topic go from "My gun's better than your gun", "you suck..no YOU suck", to "How can I keep my partner interested?"

Is this a Holiday thing?

Edited to fix the title [:p]

I think what you're seeing Vinnie is the result of breaking the General Discussion forum out into General and General Firearms forums. The "My gun is better than your gun" is still there, it's just next door.

"I'm here for an argument."

"Sorry, this is Abuse. Argument is two doors down on the left."

(Edited to remove a reference to the edited title)

It's just that we ran out of SHTF and TEOTWAWKI subjects that involve the use of firearms.  Don't worry, someone will forget the answers and ask again soon though.

By "Cosmo-type subjects" do you mean, "How do I locate my partners G spot", or "50 new Bikini styles"?

My personnal favorite topic (from the old days) is the AR-15 vs. AK-47 threads.  They will come back someday.  Things never change, They just change and then quickly change back.

Well...we are in a state of permanent war and everyday we see more of our rights sold down the pike and sometimes ya just get tired of debating the 9mm vs .45 question....and sometimes we notice wimmens around and decide to be sensitive caring cave bears.

The company I work for prints Cosmo.....as well as a plethora of other such rags.....so lately I have had a chance to catch up on such things as one may find in those mags.

Know what?

You're right!

I think the reason though is quite simple for the most part.  The issues we are facing today (terrorism, war, uncertain international politics, recession, bad markets, bad neighbors, bad kids, fear, anxiety, etc etc) are having a major impact on our daily lives.  Whether or not we all admitt it......we are all quite pre-occupied by the major happenings around us.

I think talking about favorite foods, favorite beers, cars, asking why women are crazy and why men are gross is just an easy way to vent  the pressures we are building up insdie of us.  these topics are generic, harmless and often mundane.

Just the kind of escape even us gunfreaks need.

Did I express myself in an adequately enough manner without soundng to limited in thought or too masculine?

I sure hope so.

Who was it that started a "what type of hair gel do you use???" thread a while back.

That one was a riot, because I think the guy was actually serious.

The only "cosmo" threads I want to participate in are how to get cosmo of my new gun.

Hey, I look at it this way. If I know someone is pro-gun, then I also know a lot about the rest of the way the person thinks. If I had a relationship problem, I would probably take a gun-owner's advice before I tood Sarah Brady's or Feinazi's advice.

Maybe it's a side effect of the posters' domestic situations.   Of course, that wouldn't explain Imbrogl|o posts.

For those without a domestic life, or without any life at all, maybe it reflects whatever magazine(s) or web-surfing they've been viewing.
