Maybe just my imagination... but with this jungle-like heat and humidity lately... I keep seeing these huge bizzare insects.
This sucker has been hanging out on our front window at work all afternoon. Probably a good 4-5" of wingspan. Are they moving North from the Amazon or something ?  I'm in SE PA BTW.

No--luna moths are green with bright gold spots. I don't know what that is, but it's beautiful--and harmless. Edit: Similar to an IO moth, but the legs aren't as fuzzy. |

Don't know what kind of moth that is, but we also have seen humungous Japanese beetles this year. I'm talking the size of bumblebees.
