I'm thinking about buying one at the Chantilly fun show next week, but funds are tight and i'm leaning heavily towards my first Mosin Nagant 91/30

For a Yugo M70AB2 underfolder?  That's a really good price.

Basically what Century did was get ahold of a metric shitton of beat up Yugo civil war M70AB2 kits, and built them up with new (non chromelined) barrels and new NDS recievers and enough US parts for the rest of the 922R compliance, etc.

These builds (at least the ones I've seen) have been pretty decent.  Hell, I don't need more, but I'd pick another up.

These shouldn't be confused with the WASR Romanian hackjobs that look like they were assembled by angry woodchucks on a monday morning after drinking cheap vodka all weekend.  (not really knocking those either...I have a couple, but there is a difference between the two).

I'm not a fan of the yugo folders but for $300 I would buy it.

If it's in good condition, I'd buy it just to re-sell it. As a weapon, it's really heavy for what it does and the UF is clumsy and uncomfortable. I'd rather have a 1.0mm stamped AKM pattern.

I had a Century Yugo underfolder and had no problems with it. Sites were fine, etc. For $300 I would buy every one I could find.  They've been going for double that on the EE.

+1
the only problem I had with mine was feeding mags. It had some problem with the magwell that wasnt allowing the mags or drum all the way in, and the bolt was riding above the 2nd round without putting a 2nd in the chamber.
I sent it to cetury under warranty and got it back a couple weeks later. I can dump a 75rnd drum of wolf in a heart beat with no problems. I'm jump on that deal if I were you. they run around $500 and change new.

eta* here's a happy yugo owner.

Make sure the barrel isn't a sewer pipe.

Looks like you already bought it.  I am also wary of Century, but I have been very pleased with my M70AB2.  Only compaint is that the trigger feels like a box of rocks, but, hey, its an AK and it folds up nice to fit in the trunk.  For that price I would be all over it if it looks good.

yea the trigger was crap... change it for a tapco G2 or with a dremel, buffer wheel and some jewelers rouge you can get a damn good pull out of it. you can also bend the crooked hammer and trigger springs to loosen some tension.  this is what mine looks like now.

Punch those pins out, put the gun in a vice, and use a hammer to tap that thing straight. With all appropriate padding, of course.

I've got one. The site is canted. I look at it as a plus. Basically there is the site post and the boundry of the near site.

As you look thru, you will have an endge, a space, a post, a space and an edge.

My AK will nail the second space from the left every time.

Which mean that I can actully see what the hell I'm hitting.

I embrace my cant and have learned to love it.

Ahh, no. You need a 3mm punch, a vice, and a 3lb hammer.
