cost you today, on this, the costliest of all  365 days?[:)]

Biggest shopping day of the year, everything is on "sale", and yes, you HAVE to go shopping today. Can't argue with this point, she just plain must go shopping, or else. Admit it, she was out of the house before dawn, right? Took the largest vehicle(cargo space), and made a cash withdrawl the night before?[:D]

Well pray tell, just how much is the shopping of the day going to hurt you? Or, if she's not back by now(You're really in for it), how much do you expect it's going to be?

Spending her own money counts, too-she would have used it for something YOU will now have to buy[;D], so just add it all up.

I don't have this problem, in my current single state(which is good, now), but I'm just waiting to see how much cash Mom and sisters dropped on their holiday goodies today-and how Dad feels about it.

My wife wouldn't think of getting close to the mall today (neither would I).

Today is the biggest shopping day of the year, but 26 December is the biggest "spending" day of the year.  Wouldn't get close to the mall on that day, either.

I got out cheap today (so far), but only because I'm getting my wife a new car next month. She just left with my sister to go back shopping though, but she said she wasn't buying anything [rolleyes]

Well, my wife did spend $200 on a new sewing machine while I pitched a $100 for the total cost.

But I spent over $500 today on two guitars for the kids....so it's a trick question IMHO[:D]

My daughters have spent over $600,000.
My cousin and step niece and the baby cousins who live here cost about $1800 a month.
Anyone want to adopt some kids?

$300-$400
But I made it interesting. In her defense, it was mainly getting the family ready to travel to a cooler climate over the Xmas holiday. However, she loves to shop and can easily get carried away. I went along to keep an eye on things, and have a little fun. First I did the traditional husband/boyfriend at the mall thing. I carried the quickly filling shopping bag, smiled a lot and muttered a few "that's nice" and "yes I like it". Once she got herself and the kids a new wardrobe, she thought she was was done. So I said, "my turn!" and proceeded to over stuff the bag with MY new wardrobe. She suddenly felt that it was going to cost way too much money, and we should put a few things back. Then she realized that I was being a smarta$$ about it. It pisses her off when I make my point this way. It is however, very effective. We put back the impulse items and got only what we felt we needed. Believe me, no one is going without. My daughter got 5 new shirts instead of 7. My son and I both got 2 pairs of shoes. The Mrs. got PJ's, perfume, shoes, etc. We didn't break the bank, because I was raised by very frugal grand parents. Garage sales, thrift stores, swap meets, I've seen them all. There were many times when I was embarrassed. But they taught me how to make money stretch, and to appreciate what we have, however much, or little it may be. I am happy to pass these traits to the kids, even though "mom" can be oblivious at times.

My wife has fled the scene right now to embark on a lifelong career of being a personal nanny, chauffer, butt-wiper, shoe-tier, boo-boo kisser, tooth-brusher, hand-holder and eternal praiser of the absolute perfection of her faultless, blameless, 82 lb, 7 yr. 9 mo old son with an IQ of 145 who, by the way, can't perform half the basic motor or obedience skills of your average 5 year old and who does no wrong and is God's perfect gift to mankind......(second behind Jesus of course!)

Bitter you say?

Just a bit!

I hope the fools have the merriest love-fest stroke job of a Christmas they ever had.

I work retail and this was one of the worst black fridays that I have seen in years. Traditionaly, black friday is the day that most retailers move from being in the red to being in the black.

$12.85, but only because the gun shop we were at wouldn't take my Discover to pay for the cheap holster I was buying for range use and we had to pay with her Visa.

We both avoid the malls at all costs on the day after Turkey day.  However, her dad, our two brothers-in-law and the two of us did go visit a couple gun stores, so I could drool on, umm, I mean check out, the Wilson Combat 1911s.

She spent less on holiday shopping than I did to take her, my brother, and myself out shooting after ammo costs, gun rental fees and range fees.  [:D]
