Fayetteville Tennessee has two racks full everyday.

Some do some don't. They have been getting a lot of pressure from freedom hating groups for years, they gave in.

That can't be the only reason. Decherd Tennessee WalMart doesn't have guns anymore but it is a countryass location full of farmers, hunters, and shooters.  No way that pillow biters stopped the gun sales there.

Alot of the ones in "ultra-blue" areas dont sell guns anymore, the one here in my town still sells guns, however... I wouldn't buy any of them

Their employees are too stupid to know how to have the 4473 form filled out properly so they're giving up.

Somebody told me you can buy them online, and then you bring your receipt to the store and they give you the gun.  Is this true?

I'm sure the decision to phase out gun sales was made at a corporate level, local Wal Marts have no say.

If they dont sell why take up shelf space for things that will sell?

They used to always have a case with some Fudd guns in it at our local here.  Come to think of it though, I think you're right - I don't recall seeing them on my most recent visits (I always go to that department to check ammo prices).

Fudd guns do not interest me, so it wasn't like I was ever going to buy a gun from them, but it is concerning that the anti's have pressured them into acquiesence now too.

The day I see the "no CCW allowed" sign posted on their front door is the day that Wally World loses my business forever.

EDIT: It might be kind of interesting for one of us to write a letter to the CEO of WALMART asking them what, exactly, their corporate position on the 2nd Amendment and all related issues is (CCW, ammo sales, gun sales), then post the reply here in the forum for everyone to see.  And, I might just do that!

Most metro stores wll no longer carry firearms. However the larger rule stores still do. Just depends on how the market for that area is and how brite the employees are. You can only order the firearms from certain stores that currently sell firearms. As with any other firearm purchase the FFL is required for transfer. So that means only stores with current ffls can do it.

Mine does. I checked this morning. My first time in Wallyworld in months.

This is the whole reason they quit selling guns in CA., as well as paying a big fine to the state.

they stopped selling in Kali years before I moved from there (05); they had too many violations of the 10 day wait period, 4473's not filled out right & I'm sure the pressure. So they stoppped statewide there before they started removing them from some stores elsewhere.
The gun dept. mgr. in Bastrop (outside Austin) told me they were only going to stop sales where it wasn't profitable, but she said they always sold lots.

Only store near austin that now carries guns is in San Marcos.

BTW, the closest to a non fudd gun they had was a mini 14, and everyone has an opinion about those!

One of our does, the other does not.

I bought a Remington 870 on sale there a few years back for $175.

Only 24hour super centers have guns now.

They made a decision back some time ago to stop selling at locations where their sales are not profitable (there was a thread on here about that at the time). They still sell guns in the town where I live, but that's probably because we don't have an actual full blown gun store store in town, and the only other options are a pawn shop, and small sporing goods store that mostly sells fishing gear.

The Wally World closest to me in Nashville only sells ammo (and a pretty pathetic selection at that).

The WW in my hometown in TN (small town) carries Fudd-type long guns, and a decent selection of ammo.  I remember back in the early to mid 1980's that they carried handguns.  I also remember my dad getting pissed at them when he bought a revolver there, and they were required to escort him out because he bought a firearm.  He never bought from them again.

They have a Super Center opening here next week. I heard they were not going to have guns in the new store but the manager pushed hard for them because they sell alot of guns here.
