Yes, I know its bad for me, but I'm not going to eat it. I need to buy about half a dozen 55-gallon drums of HFCS90 (90% Fructose) for a work assignment. When I Google it, I mostly get a lot of hippy nonsense about how it will kill me if I look at it. Suppliers seem to sell either small quantities (1 gallon bottles) or tankers full. My use will be a one-time thing. Any ideas where to get this stuff ?

ETA: I will be using it in Lexington KY. No, I'm not making moonshine

There is a plant in Decatur Alabama that makes HFCS. I'll try to find out the name of the company.

Nothing salacious I'm afraid - I need this stuff for some experiments I'm running. I've already emailed Cargill and ADM who manufacture this evil poison, but I'm wondering if there are distribution companies who sell this stuff in the kinds of quantities I am looking for.

Cargill makes it on President's Island in Memphis TN.
No too far of a detour in you are headed to KY.

Try getting a number for the corn plant there and ask to speak to one of the shift supervisors on the syrup side.

I used to work there in 84 or so doing QC in the lab.

Yes, it works OK.

To the OP, there are several grades, depending on the % of fructose conversion. This alters sweetness. Corn syrup is naturally glucose.

The stuff used in most softdrinks is 55% fructose.

ADM makes it too.

You might be able to find it in drums although most use is from bulk tankers.

Yeah, I'm looking for HFCS 90 (90% fructose), which seems to be less common. I don't need a tanker full either, but maybe 1000 liters or so. My application is to study the mixing dynamics of a highly-viscous fluid. HFCS is a good candidate because I can modify its viscosity simply by varying the temperature, and when I am done its not too difficult to dispose of.
