Batallion Fire Chief Allegedly Beat Up Girlfriend


PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― A Pittsburgh batallion fire chief turned himself in after he allegedly attacked his girlfriend.

According to police, James Washabaugh is accused of nearly choking and beating up the woman in her Washington Plaza apartment.

She was taken to Mercy Hospital for treatment.

Washabaugh was arraigned on Friday and released on his own recognizance.

He has been suspended with pay.
