Since the average arfcommer weighs 400 lb's + all would be easy to lift if they stood on it.

1: D
2: D 3: D 4: D I kept getting D's on my tests in high school. Wonder why? |
Too easy.
On No. 1. if the distance from the fulcrum to Point A is 15 inches, and the distance from the fulcrum to the weight is 36 inches, how much weight is needed at Point A to lift the 200 lbs? |
1.D
2. "cannot" is one word. I quit "smartness" tests upon reaching the first spelling/grammar error. |
I hope they ask harder questions than that. |

Uh, cause you only had a 1 in 4 chance of getting it right? KIDDING! |

It's a PhD in Bullshit, trust me I've earned it. |

Why do so many of you think #3 is C?
(10 / 2) * (20 / 2) = 50. |
Ah, carry on. |

200 squares can NOT FIT IN THAT BOX! Sheesh!
Man, y'all need to study more. |

quoted for Subnet's fail. You have 10" to play with up, and 20" to play with across. your box is 2" square, which means each side is 1.4142" This means that 7 can fit vertically fully, and 14 can fit across. 7x14 = 98 boxes in there. edit: Because I read it as 2" square and not 2" on each side which would be 4" square boxes |

What the... |
A, 20, is the obvious answer. Read the question carefully. 20 can fit in there. |
Which makes total sense BC 98 is one of the answers..... the answer is B |
If B is an answer, then A is an answer too. |

?? how about 20 * 10 = 200 sq-in 200 sq-in / 2 sq-in = 100 eta : is it 2 square inch boxes (e.g. as in a measure of size), or 2 inch x 2inch square boxes???? |
Hey, I think outside the box. I'm not always convinced any of the answers on multiple choice tests are correct. It really depends on how you read the question. And if the squares have an area of 2in^2, then they won't fill the 10x20" rectangle perfectly, which is how I get 98. |
I think those people have a different interpretation of what "2-inch square" means. They're reading it as "2 square inches," which is not the same thing. The question should have been worded more clearly. |
It's worded perfectly clearly. 2 inches square means "two inches on each side", if English isn't your second language. |
Each box is 4 square inches... 200 / 4 = 50. |
Both are correct ways of solving the problem. Except that the blocks are 4 sq inches. -Troy |

1 D 2 B 3 B 4 B 5 D |
The methodology is correct in both cases, but he fails in the execution. Each box is 4 square inches, not 2. |
ya, its about the wording.. is it 2 square inch boxes (e.g. as in a measure of size, ergo a 1x2 box is 2sq in), or 2 inch x 2inch square boxes, ergo 4 sq in???? |
