Hillary open for VP

I seem to remember a GD discussion alittle while back where so many people jumped on the "hillary won't take VP even if offered" bandwagon.

Makes me wonder at just how intelligent the majority of ARFCOM really is.

Now where was that thread?

Oh yea, righte here......www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=1&f=5&t=707927

I said she would take it if offered. A few others believe similarly.

Most others have laughed at the idea.

Where'd you folks put that crow?

Don't post TOO fast.  Others with sources are saying she has said she won't.

You might want to wait until an actual quote of her saying such a thing hits the press before attempting to serve cold crow.

“I am open to it,” Clinton replied, if it would help the party’s prospects in November. Her direct quote was described by two lawmakers who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak for Clinton.

She's saying she's interested so she can appear to be a "uniter."  She absolutely does not want that job, and will attach many "poison pills" to the conditions of accepting the VP job.  She wants Obama to reject her for the job.  What she wants is for Obama to lose in 2008, so that in 2012, she can say, "See?  I told you I was the better candidate -- now get it right this time."  But, she can't afford the appearance that he lost because of her.  She has to create the perception that she is all sweetness and light and party unity, while stabbing him in the back.

Given that there were, at most, two or three people in that thread saying that there's no way she'd take it, I'm wondering why you are drawing any conclusions about the intelligence of "the majority of ARFCOM".

Don't hurt your shoulder patting yourself on the back.

Calm down dude until she actually accepts it I think about 90% of your post is inappropriate. A bit of cart before the horse.

Anything that gets Hillary closer to power, she will do.  Which is why she hooked up with Bill and stayed with Bill in the first place

No matter what Hillary has said in the past, she will do what's best for her. If the VP slot is the only thing she has a shot at, she'll take it and spin that acceptance into something positive for her. That's what politicians do, they lie and deceive, and then when they are caught or proved wrong, they spin, spin, spin. There is so much spin going on, the average Joe can't keep up with it.

I believe Omama will go with someone who is slightly less attractive/less controversial but much safer.

That's probably a pretty short list...

She's after power, pure and simple. I didn't think she would take a job where she's subservient like that, but I guess I might be proved wrong soon.

If she does take it, Obama's gonna have problems in his administration, GUARANTEED.

I still say 8 years as veep (aka "bucket of warm spit") if it ensures an obamaman '08 victory makes no sense. Better to remain in the Senate, let him lose in November and crank it up again in '12.

ETA: I'm obviously discounting the "one heartbeat away" scenario.

if I were him, or anyone for that matter, I would be scared of having her as my VP. I would fear for my life.

Her better option is to not help him at all and run against McCain in 2012.

I say she'll take it.
You know, just incase "something" happens to Obama, she would be the prez.
And it seems that "something" happens to people close to the Clintons an awful lot.

I'm actually curious if this will happen.

Hillary is very polarizing...people either love her (blah) or hate her...there's not much middle ground and I almost wonder if this would hurt BHO further if she was his running mate.

ETA...page two is Hitlary's!

I wouldn't bet on it. OB doesn't want her on the ballot with him. He'll pick someone neutral.

Lets wait & see what the official party press release has to say.

I personally doubt that she would eagerly accept.  Historically speaking, the position tends to be occupational suicide for presidential hopefuls.  There have been a few to make the jump from vice -to-pres, but most president wanna be's tend to avoid the position.

True.

They'll both dance around the issue and say nice things about each other, but he won't offer and she wouldn't accept if he did.

Obama would have to be full tilt stupid to want Hillary as VP because Bill's part of the package.  And remember,  Hillary once said, and I quote, "WE are the President."

Dear God, I pray that Obama doesn't get elected,  no matter what it takes to keep that extreme tragedy from happening!     That communist asshole is quite possibly the most NON-qualified, un-American son of a bitch that could ever run for political office!

If he gets elected, expect a race war if not a full blown revolution.   And frankly,  I think
that if he does get elected,  a revolution IS due to happen,  if it's not already.
