'nuff said.

You can see that first hand in Cali-fornia. The Dems want to raise taxes to close the $20 billion deficiit, but I don't see any of the Dems proposing to cut spending.

Uh,...NO. Ronnie didn't have a Gallipolli, Dieppe, "Force Z', etc....

What was your issue with Gallipolli?
the strategic concept? the tactical execution? Contrast gallipolli with the Somme. Which was a larger failure?

Piss poor intel, piss poor planning, piss poor execution, and tossing Australian and New Zealand troops into a meat grinder that has impacted Commonwealth relations to this day, (and was repeated at Dieppe with Canadians).

Contrast gallipolli with the Somme. Which was a larger failure?

The Itallian "Soft Underbelly" campaign that turned out not to be so soft and diverted resources away frommore promising avenues, and blew up the abbey at Monte Cassino.

Insisting that Montgomery get supplies that kept Patton from getting to the Seigfried line before it was fully manned and fortified.

Failing to find a diplomatic solution before firing on French forces in Algeria.

That's just the short list off of the top of my head...

You mention nothing that was Churchill's responsibility. As first lord of the admiralty, his was the concept to break the stalemate on the Western Front. The execution, was on the commander. The choice of commander was NOT Churchills.

Actual strategy and maneuver instead of stalemate and slaughter. But don't take my word for it. Martin Gilbert's words, "Churchill's successor as Prime Minister in 1945, the labour leader Clement Attlee, who had fought at Gallipoli, praised Churchill's conception, but, like Churchill, was deeply critical of the execution." The extensive criticism levelled at Churchill about Gallipoli was largely from Generals who were doing the real inept slaughter on the Western Front and were desperate to divert attention.

Both excellent points, delayed the ending of the war for years. As the Germans and Russians slaughtered each other
Failing to find a diplomatic solution before firing on French forces in Algeria. Killing Vichy doesn't bother me nearly as much as the entire concept of Torch.
