sucks man, glad you are ok. Bike looks pretty good, is it busted or did you just not want to risk anymore riding in the rain?
It sounds like you ar ok. This I am glad to assume by your posting here.
+1 That sucks. |
Are those before pics? Doesn't look like anything is wrong besides the mud to me.
It was upside down in the ditch. Is it probably ridable? Yeah, but typically when it spends time upside down some shit is broke. And theirs a nasty tick when it runs. It's almost three hours home, my knee and elbow are kinda banged up (little road rash, nothing bad) and I don't feel like trying to limp it home that far down the interstate. |
Glad your OK!
I see mud on bike, no scratches or dings.. so whats the dealio? |
No, those are after. It's a little dinged up, hard to take good pictures right now. The only thing REALLY wrong with it is the windshield/fairing. |
Take plenty of time to rehab your injuries (i.e. play COD4) Glad you didn't get too banged up.
Bike pulling a trailer huh.
I've never though that was a very good set up. If you're gonna have four wheels and want the wind in your hair, get a convertible. Glad you are OK. That could have been much worse. |
Might I add, it's an odd perspective rolling down the interstate offramp watching your bike slide away from you at 40 MPH.
I had a dresser just like that a few years ago , I crashed it at Sturgis SD........
Meh, the trailer didn't have fuck all to do with it. That trailer has been to Maine and back, Canada and back, Kentucky and back, and now South Dakota and (most) of the way back. |
Do you feel the trailer contributed to causing your rear wheel to easily lock, and then exacerbated the resulting skid?
Does the trailer have brakes? If so, surge or electric? Really i'm very curious what it's like to tow a trailer on a motorcycle. I ride, but i doubt i'll ever hook a trailer to my bike. |
This is my first "real" crash. I tipped one over in the parking lot once but that didn't count. |
I was there yesterday. |
It would have been funny if it was a crotch rocket but since its a Harley I to share your pain. |
Glad you are OK - how about an update once you get things sorted out?
I'm sure. Like I said, I'm sitting at the Perkins in Albert Lee MN stealing the Wifi from the communist bastards at starbucks next door. Waiting for my Dad to get here with the truck and trailer. |
I just got it not even two weeks ago. Had a Kawasaki Voyager before that. |
Glad you are ok. Did the trailor push the back end out on you?
It was caused by either all that extra shit all over the bike or the elevator music blaring from the speakers lulling you to sleep.
Never could understand the reasoning for riding a Ultra or a GeezerGlide. If I wanted comfort, I would plant my ass on a couch. If it ain't nekkid', it ain't a real bike. Glad you didn't get too banged up though. |
I need to get back to that. Maybe I'll call in Wed...I bet I'm gunna be sore as shit. |
No, I don't think so. Honestly I don't REALLY know what happened other than I got on the rear brakes to hard on the wet pavement, and the rear tire was getting kinda low on tread... |
Actually I was listening to AC/DC. I like my Ultra, great bike. Last I checked your couch can't get you around at 40MPG either. |
Damn glad your ok,The one thing i keep up to date on my car and bike is brakes and tires they will save your ass.good call not running it if it sounds funny, look and smell in your oil tank you might have some gas in there.good luck.
And he just joined the "have" club. Welcome aboard. Glad you're okay. -Mark. |
I know, and I had every intention of putting a new tire on it as soon as I got home. I knew the tire was kinda "meh" when I left but it wore FAST. |
I don't see how the h you can post from your cramped position where you are, there, all squished down behind the tank.
Glad youre OK.
Dont let it spook ya though, youre better preparred for the next time. |
As long as you're ok, that's all that matters.
The stuff on the bike can be replaced. YOU can not. |
your riding an ultra-classic and your dad is picking you up?
hmmm. |
I know it'll buff right out. |
I turned 21 the 29th of May. Happy fuckin birthday. |
Nah, I'll get back on and ride...not a problem. |
my dad's got a killer set of tools...he can fix it. Are you near East Troy/Whitewater/Madison by chance? Happy belated by the way |
Thats what I was wearing. Helmet and sweatshirt. I liked that sweatshirt to. Oh, and yes smartasses, I was wearing pants to. |
Only about two or three hours north. I'm up by LaCrosse area |
