I think this is the first time I've ever posted in the GD, but I feel like most will find this information enlightening.
This is a law school lecture presented by the law professor and a seasoned Virginia Police investigator. Please take the time to watch this video and show it to all the people you love and or care about. If you find this information useful please let others on the forum know. Click Here Edit to add: THE VIDEO IN THE ABOVE LINK IS NOT ANTI-LEO!!!! TD |

Please be aware that the max number viewers at any one time is 20. If the video does not work when you link it, do yourself and favor and try it again later. This really is enlightening information. TD |

The guy babbles on annoyingly. He needs to cut back on his caffeine.

Your mouth makes the rope they hang you with. STFU. The end.
20 viewers max? Why not YouTube? |

In before DaveA and the Big Brother Brigade.
Bump for shitstorm. |

Clip is about 20 minutes long. Very interesting info, especially the 8 reasons not to talk to the police.
ETA--the first part is 20 minutes and then a police officer talks for about 20 more. |

Common sense really but many people forget about it in the heat of the moment.
Even cops involved in on the job shootings are advised to shut up until an FOP lawyer gets there. Whats good for the goose is good for the gander. |

I have a program trying every 10 seconds. Has attempted a few hundred times.

I don't talk to cops if I can avoid it, even ones that are friends of mine for many years.

This is a great speech.
I've given similar speeches countless times but I am frequently ignored. |

Maybe you should try lecturing them instead. Interesting cites from the Supreme Court and other case precedents. The Prof could put Barry Bonds picture up there next to Martha Stewart and Marion Jones because he's being prosecuted for 14 counts of perjury. He should have kept his mouth shut and pled the 5th Amendment. |

Nothing new.
At least it's better than the ACLU video on search and seizure. |

Its not working for me
I dont talk to them just because Im not a fucking lawyer and I dont know of every fucking law. It would be too easy to break a law you didnt even know existed and then confess to it not knowing that it was a crime. I was also raised being told to never talk to them because they didnt come knocking on your door just to say hi and see how you are doing. |

Too many users....
try a direct file link, perhaps. media.regent.edu/lawPreview/031408_DontTalktoPolice.wmv |

I'd be curious to hear what they both thought would be the appropriate response to the question, "Do you know how fast you were going?". |
|
Talk to the police, don't talk to the police... I personally will stick with 'follow the law'... The only time I'll ever need to talk to the police, is if I'm calling them... |

Tag for when the damn video works.
ITunes and Youtube it anyone? |

That isn't always enough to stay out of the pokey even if you could accomplish such an unlikely feat. If you can't know the law, how on earth can you claim to be following it? As the speech suggests, "following the law" (assuming you are capable of the task of knowing "the law" in all its vastness) and not speaking with police are not mutually exclusive. One is well advised to both follow the law (as best one can) and not speak with the police. Perhaps you do know all of "the law." If so, it'll be the first time I've become aware of a savant such as yourself. |
