I've been imprisoned in one marriage for 30 years.
It looks like I'll never escape.
And I'm damn glad of it.

There's no arfcom curse. I'd say as a whole we are well below the national divorce rate.

Knew the first wife for two weeks before getting married.  It only lasted seventeen years.

Have been together with the second wife for twenty one years now.

Your poll sucks.  No choice for divorced and remarried multiple times.

Since I am legally married, I always answer this question as "Married".  In reality though, my wife/ex-wife and I own separate homes and have lived apart for 5 years.  I also pay her child support directly, all of this is done without involving the courts.  We both have a steady "significant other" and do not plan to get back together.  It's simply more convenient to remain married at the moment, but we will eventually get divorced, probably when one of us decided to marry someone else or our daughter turns 18, whichever comes first.

See how a question asking for marital status is useless now?  It is just a legality thing, and doesn't really tell you anything about that person beyond that.

I was married once, for two years divorced for eighteen. Long term live in relationship with my sons mother, for five years. No long term relationship since then, none of any kind for the past two.

I'm currently engaged to a wonderful woman.  I couldn't have picked it any better.

She loves to cook for me, she doesn't mind me having guns, she won't discuss politics, she's easy maintence, she's frugal with money (which is a good thing since I like to spend), she loves giving me massages, she loves to take care of me, and she's beautiful... I couldn't ask for more.

ETA:  And she's Italian... and she knows how to cook Italian food... my second favorite.  In fact, she's trying to learn how to cook my first favorite... Chinese food.  My mother is teaching her how because she wants to cook my favorite foods.  As long as I take good care of her, she will take good care of me.

Poll is full of fail because it also doesn't account for people divorced and remarried.

marriage should not be viewed as just a legality matter. It is a bond shared between two people. It is more than just the law stating that you are married. People have odd ways of viewing what a marriage is. or maybe I am the odd one

Married never been happier.

We take care of each other instead of taking care of ourselves.

When both people in a relationship do that, things work themselves out.

Most of the time, divorce is caused by rampant self-centeredness on one or both sides, not some ARFCOM curse.

Isn't everyone "in the process" of divorce - even if they aren't married yet?

OK - for you happily married guys - that's a joke.
