I have the LaRue screen saver installed on my work comupter. I often get comments on what might be showing at any particular moment. The comments run from are those yours? (I wish), to are those legal? What is it? etc.

Today I had a gentleman come in wearing an Army shirt. He asked about the screen saver. I told him I downloaded it from the LaRue site. He then proceeded to tell me he just retired from the Army, the M4 is crap and everybody should be issued a 20" A2.

I told him that's an interesting observation, here's your paperwork, please see my dock manager and travel safely.

Just thought I would share.

Well at least he was honest about him being in the Army, it would have made for a better conversation if he said SEALS.

I was advised to remove it.

My computer is visibile to customers.

Sad thing is that my father in law/ boss is a gun owner and says he supports the 2nd. He also owns an AR (that he NEVER shoots).

The unfortunate thing about having people notice the screen saver is many "posers" claim military service. I've run into the Delta SEAL Team Recon Rump Ranger Airborne types many times. When I start asking specific questions about their service it all of the sudden becomes vague.

So after a while I don's ask anymore.

I have had one guy who saw one of the screens and knew immediately what was on the screen. We had a nice chat.

He's right.

When I was in Afghanistan back in '88 serving as a drill sergeant screen door gunner on the USS Codfish (a nuclear sub), I ended up in a horrendous fight where one of my arms got trapped in the treads of the sub. My M4 jammed on me and if it hadn't been for my trusty Glock and my Ka-Bar I would have been awarded my silver heart and purple star posthumously.

I had an HR employee tell me that even LOOKING at anything weapon related on the internet is a violation of OSHA hostile work environment regulations.

Ironically, we run into quite a few .mil and LE folks that can't view our site, because their systems don't allow viewing "firearms related items".
