How many rounds can I keep loaded in a 30rd USGI.  I have heard 30 or some people say 28 so it functions reliably.  Same thing on the 20's keep 18 in them......

Whats the skinny on this?

Short loading by 2 rounds was an army trick to keep guys from overloading.

This isn't a problem is you are loading off strippers.

If you are worried about the springs sagging out, short load a little.

Or do what I do and load 20 in a 30, stick a guide spoon on top and a loaded stripper ready to top the mag off.  You can dump the extra 10 if you don't have time, or quickly top the mag off.

I've never had problems loading 30 in a 30 and 20 in a 20. Except for the USA mags...

OK, so I admit that I own a couple USA mags... Anyone want to buy them??? For sale cheap...
