I got Norton Systemworks 3.0 / 2000 quite a while back.
It was installed in the last half of '99. This was after they had supposedly fixed serious bugs with NAV 3.0.
My son insisted that it messed our computer up, though it has been handy for defragging virus checking, etc. It does seem like there is an increased propensity for crashes. While we did use the disk optimizer, I didn't allow it to fix all the registry problems it thought it found, because I just didn't have total faith in it. Plus, for all the supposed problems, the computer we had put together was running pretty well.
I have to agree with him. Over the last couple of years, the machine just seems more quirky. I has detected some viruses, but not a lot. Maybe we're just lucky.
I think the next time we will try McAfee or one of the others.
