SYDNEY, Australia (CNN) -- Prime Minister John Howard's government won a third term Saturday, ending a race marked by scant differences between the two leading parties on major issues.

Scant differences? Please! Labor wants to welcome every "refugee" who shows up on the coast, distance social and trade ties with Britain and the US, while conversely improving them with Asia.
