Last night I picked up a new handgun for my wife. Her first, and the victory there is another story.
No big deal for most of you but, here's the story:
My FFL makes the call to NICS for the background check. While he's waiting for them to pick up the phone he tells me it will take an extra 45 minutes for them to contact INS.
I say WTF? He says new thing since 9-11. Everyone who is not a citizen must go thru INS as well as NICS.
I am a legal permanent resident(green card holder) and have purchased weapons before without this check before 9-11.
No big deal except I felt kinda bad cause I showed up at closing and he stayed open waiting for the call. I tipped him a twenty for his trouble.(He sold me the firearm wholesale plus $20)
He's your classic local dealer and I almost feel obligated to buy from him cause he treats me so well. Even for stuff I could get cheaper elsewhere.
If your in FL. check him out. www.floridaammotraders.com
Cheers,
BP
