Since my range time is limited due to family obligations and lack of green paper for flying lead, I am considering getting a BB rifle for fun. I don't want to spend more than $100 and I found a CZ-Slavia 631 rifle for that price. The muzzle velocity is 700fps. How accurate is the rifle at 50-75ft. and is it a good rifle or not. Any suggestions?

I've got a Daisy Powerline 880, paid 40 bucks for it at WalMart.

It's basically all plastic with a piece of sheet metal rolled into a tube for a barrel. Pump model means royal pain in the butt.

I bought it to eradicate the pigeon population from crapping around the house. It's been pretty accurate, actually. I've had successful shots from at least 60 feet away, even knocked a couple out in flight. Just ask my neighbor, the first one ruined his new patio.

I know there are much better air guns out there, but for the price my Daisy suits it's purpose just fine.

I have no idea about the rifle you mentioned, but I just did a lot of reasearch into air rifles for my back yard plinker.

In your price range, I'd go for a Benjamin/Sheridan. You can pick one up for about $110-$120.

Winchester now makes a few models. One about here sells for $99 and is 1000fps with the .177 pellet.

That looks like it would be fine, but how many FPS? I have an RWS Diana .177 that shoots about 1100 fps, but it was pretty expensive. Really accurate though.

If it's spring-piston and under $100, it's probably not a very good gun. Good, accurate spring-piston air rifles are expensive.

Desert Rider - You're a man after my own heart! My 880 has taken out at least 25 pigeons from the roofs and skies of Moreno Valley, CA. One flying rat took a hit in the neck but managed to fly to the neighbor's roof. He then proceeded to tumble off the second story and make a huge mess on the patio. How can one bird have so much blood running through it???

Get one that has a velocity of 1000-1100ft/sec and preferably a pelet rifle for less drop . I had a Powerline that with 10 pumps would give me over 1000ft/sec and would go through 1/4inch plywood with BBs. I don't remember the model number for this was in the mid 1980's.

I kinda like the Crosman pump ups. The price is about the same as a Daisy, but they seem to stand up better. I don't know the model number anymore, but it used to be 766 American Classic.
I once dropped a crow at a measured 44yards with this gun and Beeman pointed pellets. .177. Don't bother with bb's if you get a rifled barrel and don't get a smooth barrel.
The RWS's are great guns, but around here they are $200 or more.

I picked up one of those $35.00 Chinese spring-piston ones at a gunshow, and it's been a blast. With a cheapo 4X scope, it's surprisingly accurate, and it spits pellets out at close to 1000fps.

It's a little bit louder than .22 Aguila Colibri through a 10/22 though.
