Help me get this ladies internet connection going please

So I am here at work and this nice lady approached me and asked if I could help get her laptop onto the internet. It's a Dell running Windows 2000, does not have wireless so we are using a cat 5 cable.

when I do command prompt and ipconfig, it shows ip address, gateway, etc etc.

When I try to release it or renew it, it tells me "no adaptors bound to TCP/IP are enabled for DHCP"

How can I fix this????

Click
Start/Settings/Network Connections

Find Local Area Connection and open it

Hit properties button

Find TCP/IP in the list and double click

Set Obtain IP address automatically
Set Obtain DNS automatically

Hit ok to everything

when you do ipconfig, does it tell you the address is dhcp assigned. It seems like she has a static address.
