I was going to open with a sarcastic LEGP remark, but I sorta like the 1911.  Could be a future purchase, and hopefully it's Springfield or better.

In closing:
Were in the hell is my Kalif legal 2001/2002 AR-15?

What manufacturer is the LEGP 1911?

He doesn't know yet. I think he's still getting bids from different companies.

My guess is RRA will be the manufacturer since they had the AR contract.

I would buy one if it comes in stainless...but it looks like parkerizing will be the way everyone wants it. Guess I'll sit out on another LEGP purchase...

Chaingun, there will never be such an animal as a 2001/2002 LEGP AR15 for California.  The lowers are banned as an AR15-series firearm by Roberti-Roos.

It would be an excellent deal if the gun was built on RRA frame and slides.  However, for $950 I expect to see at a 4lb trigger and quality wood grips with either 20lpi checkering or serrations on front and backstrap.

Now to decide upon LEGP engraving. Something simple on the slide.

I seen at the local gunstore that they sold the single shot AR-15 lowers by DPMS. I guess you can have an "evil" looking rifle here in CA, but it will have to be single shot.

The Gun Runner
Monroe, Ohio 45050
(513) 539-8480

I was in there three days ago and he had two of the "Loaded" models for $549.00

They sell near that price at the shows in this area as well.

Edit starts here

Tim,

I see where this is headed and it is never my intentions to start bashing the LEGP 1911 or create a war over the price. It just seems we can do better on the price based on what they sell for around here. If we can't, I was wondering what it is about this gun that will make it that much more than the others. It would seem that since the members are getting a quantity purchase discount of some sort, the price would be lower than the going rate...not higher.

The reason I questioned the price is because it's actually high for a Springfield. Why would Springfield sell their guns at the same price of Kimber (basing this on the facts that Kimber Classic Stainless models with all their goodies sell for $695 at another dealer in the area that is a master dealer).
If they did sell that high, everyone would buy Kimber.
The master dealer in the area is Target World (513) 772-3343. I beleive they sell Springfield as well.
