Not sure how many members here have heard of what the residents of this state are going though. But essentially, the state now requires/demands that each resident of the state have health care--this could cost hundreds a month for a Mass approved Health Care program.
This year, the penalty is $250 stolen out of your state taxes. And here is what I'm really fuming about... Next year, they take away your driver's license if you are not enrolled. Next year I think I'm going to have to move away, regardless of my financial situation at the time. I just can't deal with this state any longer.  BTW ... This is the brain child of Mitt Romney. |

Dead serious. There are 2500+ well permits to be drilling in 2008 alone in Garfield County , CO.
I work for a directional drilling company and I bounce all over the Rocky Mountain Region. If the timing is right, I can get you signed on with my company, as long as you have some electrical background or some computer technical skills. Or you can go work for a drilling rig and then after 6 mos, apply at my work for having experience. |

It's coming whether we like it or not. Sooner or later we're going to get nationalized health care. It doesn't matter that it's been a near failure everywhere it's been tried, it doesn't matter that we can't afford it as a nation. All that matters is that people will vote for those who promise them "free" stuff.
The old saying "He who dies with the most toys wins" should be modified to "She who promises the most free stuff wins". |

But it's good for you to have health insurance. Why would you object to the state making sure that you are insured in case you get sick on injured? They only want what's best for you!

and to think we have people here advocating a vote for romney....
what a POS mass has become... whatever happened to "city on a hill" and all that good stuff...... sorry man. evac whenever possible is the only advice i have. its only going to get worse and most of the people there will not want to stop what is happening. |

Somehow they think they know how to live their lives better than we do. And now we're forced into their twisted little plan. Assume the position or pay the penalty. But let's see how fast they take away the free handouts to the losers of this state not willing to work, the hordes of single mother baby factories on welfare, and the countless others useless dregs meandering around. |

But the Rocky Mountain area of Colorado has always been very high on my list of places to relocate to. The only problem is packing my truck with my crap, making the drive, and setting up shop elsewhere. Having never attempted such a stunt before, I just want to have things set up beforehand. |

It sucks that it has come to this but 3rdpig is right: nationalized/socialized medicine is coming... like it or not.
The political pressure from liberals combined with the demands of huge numbers of retiring baby boomers will insure that it happens. I'm guessing within 10 years. What we are seeing now is the current political parties positioning themselves to avoid blame and take credit for their "leadership". Bastards... |

And it's not going to get any better, either. Government is only getting bigger, while we lose more and more right every day. We're undoubtedly falling into a deep hole from which we won't be able to climb our way out of. Here's a good quote that sums it all up... Take a look at the world we inherited. We're a bunch of fast-food munching MTV freaks humping the great American Dream. The generation before us sold their innocence for 200 digitally enhanced satellite stations, and it's been downhill ever since. They had Mickey Mouse, Easy Rider and The Beatles. Alright? We got South Park, The Blair Bitch and Ricky Martin. Alright? They had "Be here now!". We got "Shit Happens!". If that doesn't put thinks in perspective, i dunno what does. It's that same thing as holding elections in Iraq, where Saddam always won with 100% of the vote--no way Massachusetts would allow free money in their pocket to be taken away. They'll either rig the vote somehow or make up for the loss by tripling our excise tax. |
