They shoot down satellites!
What if they got in terrorist's hands? PLEASE, THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!!! |
i'm more worried about 88 magnums. They shoot through schools.
That is exactly why we need them. So the children of tomorrow don't grow up in a communist controlled third world country that once was the greatest nation on earth: The United States of America. |
Yup. Oh and the same way I'd justify buying a hammer. It's just a tool. |
Don't forget that they come with heat-seaking rounds. You just have to shoot in someone's general direction and the bullet will find them.

I've got some of those, they are really cool. Did you know you can get software off the Internet to reprogram them to not kill children? |
The only people that have those are fargund iceholes. |
It's not the 50 that needs to be justified. It's the fact that they all have that straight thing that goes up on your arm.
I justify it the same way I would justify a 30-06. They are a high powered rifle that falls within the legal definition of arms. I admit, they are at the upper edge of that definition but within none the less.
The fact is that they are expensive and not generally within the pervue of guns commonly used in crimes. In fact, I'm not aware of any ever used in crimes???? I'm far more concerned about Lorcin .22s being straw purchased for distribution to city folks who cannot legally buy a gun because they have caused themselves to be prohibited from owning weapons. From a practical side as a cop. I've seized numerous pistols of every stripe from criminals. Second most common is the 12ga pump shotgun, usually the cheapest model available. Crooks rarely carry high end weaponry and even when AKs were cheap they were exceedingly rare on the streets. I have never once even encountered or seized an SkS. Thus, if we were going to define criteria for potential real danger on the basis of size, we can see that smaller is more dangerous, not larger. Now, I know this is just a mental exercise, but perhaps if we could find a way to deal with the bad people problem, rather than the " bad gun " problem, we would actually make some sort of progress. |
Are there any other caliburs your loosing sleep over or is this it?
Most people own them because they can. |
Justify it? Easy: there is this big empty spot in my safe that needed filling.
(FWIW I do not have a Fiddy yet because I cannot afford that kind of outlay right now... but rest assured, if I had my druthers, there would be one in my safe...) |
Just trying to lighten the mood! Judging by some of the responses, some people took me seriously.... |

Is your car capable of exceeding the speed limit? Turn it in troll! |
Well said! |
You might want to try 40mm... |
It took a muscle car AND a 50 bmg to make up for my small penis.

I have, it tickles my prostate. |

Pretty loose?? |

The burden of justification is on the side of the person who wants to ban them. When they're used in a large enough number of murders/crimes that makes them a priority for banning, it will be a different story.
How about banning morons and criminals. Problem solved. |
Thank you and keep gaurding my investments. I'm still waiting to see on the Chrysler thing. |

49-caliber rifles, on the other hand, aren't nearly as destructive as 50-caliber rifles. We need a federal law that limits bullet diameter to .49. Then, bluebirds would sing and there would be peace and love throughout the land.

How can you justify the New York Post, LA Times, Washington Post, etc. being able to print anything they want?
The 1st Amendment? Should there not be resonable restrictions on what they print? Well, do ya feel lucky punk? |
The government in this scenario being a communist/socialist one, you are technically describing a second world country. First world - Developed nations with capitalist free markets Second world - Communist/socialist economic and political systems Third world - Underdeveloped nations, non-communist economic and political system |
