That's just sad...

Fred really messed up when he didn't announce sooner, he needed to strike while the iron was hot. I really don't know why he waited so long. It seems like the initial support he had moved on to other people because they got tired of waiting.

I don't think he entered too late--heck, he lead the national polls WHEN he entered. What he needed to do was to MAINTAIN that enthusiasm with constant hammering of his message and his opponents' weaknesses. Fred did not do that, whether because of his laid-back nature or lack of funds.

In any case, it's a shame this field now has no true conservative (except one unelectable, yet lovable nut-case).
