The irony and retarded nature of that poster, both baffles and infuriates me.

A guy that keeps saying how we need to cut funds to the military is using a WW2 poster, The original intent of that poster was to RAISE money for the military, not something Paul would do.

Has Paul spent the money from his last "money bomb" yet?

Have we figured out what he spent all that money on?

Don't you find it odd that the "I just donated to the Fred Thompson Campaign" thread hasn't been moved to Politics and Activism?

No knock on Fred, but someone's bias is showing.

not nearly the percentage of income we do now.

With all the new taxes that have been put in place since 1945 we probably could fund another country entirely (actually we do since we hand a bunch of it out to other coutries)

+1.  Not the appropriate poster for a guy who wants to cut the military by what, 80%?

I think as much thought went into the choice of that poster as went into RP's foreign policy positions.

My point was that the War bonds have a maturity & direct payback.....I have a couple Ks of the "patriot bonds" (win/win)

Paying high taxes & driving up debt for a nebulous "WoT" the outcome is questionable.

I think the poster is appropriate for a Presidential Candidate that would put Americans first.

Just curious, what was the maximum tax rate during WWII?

In 1944, if you or your family made over $200,000 (highest tax bracket), your tax rate was 94 percent. Also, in 1944, people making up to $2,000 (lowest tax bracket) had a tax rate of 23 percent.

Roosevelt said, once, "no American citizen ought to have a net income, after he has paid his taxes, of more than $25,000 a year."

In a recent CNN interview, they introduced him by saying that he still had $9 million on hand, which means he has spent about half of the $20million he raised.

He spent it on the same stuff every campaign spends their money on; radio, print and tv ads and maintaining a staff.

What are you guys going to wish you'd spent that money on when RP doesn't win any primaries?

Conversely, what is Ron Paul going to spend that money on when he can't win any primaries?

Would someone here please cite the primary source for the statement that paul wants to cut the military funding by 80 percent if he becomes President? I've been following pauls campaign fairly close over the last few months and, so far, I have failed to find any source for the statement above. Likewise, I have also failed to hear paul himself quote that figure in various interviews which he has given in the past 12 months. Perhaps I have failed to look deep enough? If so then I would appreciate it if someone here could point me to the original source for the 80% figure. Obviously, a direct quote from paul himself would be ideal here. TIA

Edited to fix some grammar mistakes.

and if you wouldn't mind reading that last line in the interview and tell us what Paul says, hmmmm?
