Don't call me a peon, I've been a Yanks fan since even before Reggie Jackson was signed (the A's couldn't keep him).

They need to start playing those crazy Adidas commercials from three years ago that featured the Yankees fans.

NO ONE hates the Yak knees more than I do.

grrrrrrr.

They have clearly signed a pact with Satan. All good Christian boyz should disavow any association with them. [flame]

Naw, I figured they had to let them win a couple.  Otherwise they'd lose millions in ticket sales. [:D]

I'm with garandman.  I'm all for anything that gives New York a pick me up these days, that is anything but the Yankees winning another world series.  It is a sad thing to be a life long Red Sox fan, but it is in the blood and it goes along with hating those d@mn Yankees...

Sniff, sniff.................
It's not looking pretty for us D'back fans.
Last night I gave a candy bar to my friend (staunch) Yankee fan during the game when we were up. He ate the candy bar and bitched that the Yankee's had old guys. He was low and knowing he was going to lose made my night.
Then it got tied up. Then they won. Not good.
He got my candy bar! We have a liter soda bet on the series. He's already told me what he want!
go d'backs............sniff, sniff

I was going to post some good trash talk at the bottom of the Ninth last night, but I guess it's a good think I didn't.

Are you sure Kim isn't a Yankee double agent?

I'm here! They sound like great games (except for the outcome). I listen to them (hit and miss)at work. Soooo close then WHACK, so far away.
It seems that they are both good teams.
I'm still pulling for the D'backs but I'm feeling a bit puny about them winning.

go d'back's.......sniff, sniff

... we just tired of wasting our breath, gawd it's gotta be a long flight home for the Yanks tonight.

Remember: It takes more than nine Yanks to beat our Johnson!

How is that humble pie tasting now HiramRanger?

You know my Dad said the same thing after Kim blew the lead in Game 5 in New Yawk. And then after the 15 to 2 game yesterday in Phoenix he really has become convinced of it.

D-back fans? How, they have only been around for four years. Phoenix is a retirement community for Chicago & New York. There are more Cubs & White Sox fans in the desert.
(edited)
There were more Cubs & Sox fans, now everybody will be wearing that ugly Diamondback gear.

Arizona,
Enjoy your first national championship!!!

Interesting.  I tried to keep up on the baseball threads here (such as they are) and I remember most of the 'trash' coming form 'our man in NY'.

I'm a Cubs and Giants fan so my ties to the D-backs are through Grace, Morgan, Williams and Batista.  I was SO happy to watch ANYONE else besides the Yankees or Braves win The Series last night.  Particularly when it allowed some truly classy players that hadn't previously won a ring to get theirs.

I'm only sad for the Yankees loss in how it impacted the people of NY.

I was also happy to see it go 7 GOOD games which allowed us to watch some truly good managing on both sides as they 'played' the game.

Cubs in '02!!

Ahem, Ahem. The ARIZONA DIAMONDBACKS Took it away from the Yank's. Good games all of them.
The right (my team) WON!

In typical fashion, when the weak AL team has to play more games where ( OH MY GOD! ) the pitcher has to act like a real baseball player and bat, THEY LOSE!

Way to Go D-Backs!

Now as far as feeling sorry for NY fans. Well, the Yankees losing does not in any way affect the sadness and anger over the Pentagon and WTC attack. Guiliani was a class act last night after the win. He clapped for the Snakes.
Now we need to make him understand about digging up the remains.....

Hey, I'm a long term Astros fan. Heck I even went to Colt .45's games. You gotta love the Astros as their previous name referenced a wonderful sidearm!

You mean Cubs in 01! There are so many ex-Cubbies on the D-Backs is almost like they just moved the franchise and changed names rather than started a new team!

But if we could win now with all these ex-Cubbies what is Chicago's excuse?

... For me, the best part of the World Series was hearing the National Anthem performed with such conviction and received with such open hearts.  no more Roseanne crotch-grabbing or pop singers inprovising some star-spangled get jiggy wid it atrocity.  The series was everything good about America.
