Bought a Bushmaster A1 16" H-Bar in 1997. I was 23, and already into military style rifles. A local gun store ran an advertisement, selling them for $699.
Well, I sold it so I could get an AK underfolder. Found out I wasn't that impressed with that, and traded it for another Bushmaster 16" H-Bar a year later. Now I've got that same post ban Bushmaster, a preban M4gery (Olympic lower/Bushmaster upper), 21 hicap mags, shitloads of ammo, and another upper. To me, there's just not a better or more versatile weapon than an AR. And I am addicted. |

It was my 17th birthday in 1985 that I got my first AR15 rifle. I was the talk of the school... and in those days they weren't worried you would show up to shoot everyone.
Ahhh, the good old days. I even went to a local gunshow with it slung over my shoulder and a reporter stopped me for an interview. He was obviously anti-gun and was there to showcase the awesome firepower that was not only on display, but for sale. When he spotted this 17 year old kid walking around with a military rifle (me) he couldn't be more excited. When my picture and name showed up in the local paper my mom freaked out. She thought everyone in town would come to rob us... looking for that rifle. Laugh, what she didn't realize was that our house was probably marked off countless lists when they found out what might be waiting for them. [:)] I still have that old rifle and will never part with it, until I die of course. |

I bought my first one this year! Olympic Arms PCR-5 16" HBAR carbine.
Upper is long gone, but still have the lower. I remember the first one I ever saw up close. I was snooping in my Grandad's closet, and saw his Colt 16" CAR sitting in the back. I picked it up... with my heart racing. I could believe how beautiful it was. How mystical. It was the neatest rifle I had ever seen. Now, I have 4 and growing... and they look just like an ordinary rifle to me. Still love em... but I miss that "mystical" feeling when I wasn't so used to them. |

First one I acquired was my father's vintage 1969 SP1. The first AR I bought was a PWA lower and full heavy match barrel kit from JT Surplus March 2001 and gave this unfired rifle to my best friend as a wedding present. My 2nd AR is an M4gery kit on PWA receiver.

I have wanted one since I was 8 years old and my brother graduated from basic traing with the Marines in 1973. Boughtr my first one about 6 months ago, an M15A2 Armalite.

1997, took about $1000 cash and headed off tot he gun show. Walked out with a Bushmaster A2 20" and a bag full of mags. One of the best buys of my life

Well, none yet, but I will be going to the gun show this weekend and hope to trade a few guns for some other guns. I am hoping for a parts kit since most pre-built AR-15s are greviously overpriced. Why pay $800 for something I could build for $550 ? Preferably, I would like to sell them outright and use the money to get a Tapco M-16 parts kit. Then sell the FA parts on E-Bay and buy SA parts to replace them with.

One of my friends had a Colt SP1 that I couldn't get enough of back in 1986. I soon purchased a Mini 14 which though adequate for plinking and defense, just wasn't the same. I ended up selling that and purchasing an Eagle Arms EA2 back in 1989. A few years later, I traded that gun for an FN FAL and a parts kit to go with it. Although I still have that FAL, I never had as much fun with that rifle as I had with the AR.
I kept talking to one of my shooting buddies about needing to get another AR but never did anything about it till this summer. I had not kept up on prices and thought the better quality ARs were going for close to $1000. That was more than I wished to pay and told my friend so. He told me they could be had for less than $750 and I made the mistake of saying, "If you can find me an AR (Bushmaster, Colt, or Armalite) for no more than that price, I will buy it today". Guess what? He found a NIB Bushmaster for $729. [:)] |

In 1993
I bought a Colt. I was on active duty in the Marine Corps at the time and all of the other troops were buying up MAK 90s along with 30 round mags and wind up drums packed in grease. "Hey look at what I got!!!" They all stopped degreasing. They looked at me. I felt like the kid who brought a math book in for show-and-tell. |

If I have the money and they are still legal, my first rifle will be bought on or sometime soon after February 17. Most likely a bushmaster 20" and a few months later a remington 870. |

'97, when I had my FFL.
Got a pre-ban Bushmaster Dissipator that I'd been lusting after for about 4 years ( when I first got "into" firearms, I thought only of pistols; then I found out about revolvers and shotguns and finally rifles and WOW! ). The other FFL sent the rifle via UPS from across the country, and UPS lost it for, get this, a MONTH! When I got it, it had a bent telestock, slightly upwards, but, functional...and a deep gouge in the sight handle slope on the left side. I looked at her and thought, "this gun has already seen battle". I was compensated for the damages and had the telestock replaced, leaving the scar on the sight handle as a reminder of what she'd been through to get to me... I named her [b][red][i]Darlene[/i][/red][/b]. Shortly thereafter, I decided the Klinton years were getting to be too much for a FFL, and that was my last transaction. A gift to myself and I was out. The End. (until I get more!) |

A damn good friend sold me his Colt SP1 when he got his registered DIAS for his Bushmaster. He was kind enough to let me pay it out over three months, and I just sent out the last of the checks to him on Friday. I owe him big, especially considering he also told me about this place.
The SP1 has got some wear, but my wife and I both love it. The best part, is that the wife is budgeting in a gun safe now that we have a long gun, as well as more AR's, as there are many more we both want to own. I'm thankful she's as in love with black rifles as I am. I've wanted to own one since I saw my first Colt AR-15 at Oshman's Sporting goods back in 1986. God Bless Texas |

Got my first one two weeks ago. Got a RRA stripped lower at a gun show, then ordered the PCR Rifle kit from Oly and slapped it all together. Assembly was easy, and the upper and everything else looks GOOD. Will see how she runs this weekend (hopefully)

My second AR was a Pre Ban Bushamaster M4gery purchased last December. Both are still in my possession. |

Aug 2000. Oly lower purchased at Camp Perry direct form Oly. Got Oly parts kit later that fall and slapped it together. Took it to Perry in 2001 and will return again next year.

Around Sep. or Oct. last year... a 1985 AR-15A2 Sporter II. Paid $700 from a guy whose dad passed away and he didn't know what to do with it. Finally got to shoot it a couple of months ago. Except for the mag not feeding correctly, it was a 'thrilling' experience. Made my Mini-14 look weak.

Brought new Armilite in 2000. It was hard to do but really glad I did now. I had always shot a "real" rifle-DCM M1 Garand. I now have 2 rifles I love to shot!!!!!
