My 'nom de plume' as it were! I've run into some, er, 'technical problems' with my use of the name 'Eric', so I guess I should find another board name.
I thought it might be nice and kinda neighborly to take suggestions from the board! Isn't that special? [:D] Maybe I should just choose 'Harrold the Idiot' and get it over with now! I sorta prefer the '______ the ______' moniker and would probably go with something along those lines. Feel free to make suggestions, but bear in mind: (1) I do have access to firearms, and, (2)as the 'Refighting Gettysburg' thread has shown, I am the sort of fellow that will bear a grudge for a considerable period of time. If we cannot come up with a proper and suitable replacement, I suppose I can always stick with my chosen and cherished name: Eric The(Trademarked)Hun[>]:)] |

What sort of trouble did you "run into"?
Why can tyou use Eric the Hun? |

Im sorry but you can't change your name...
DONT DO IT DAMN YOU!!!! |

I don't get it. What kind of problems could the name "Eric" cause[?] [:\]

Eric, Don't Change it. That would screw some idiots on this board up. Then they wouldn't know who to bash. Oh wait a min...What was I thinking.
Oh yeah, go ahead and change it. BTW, what sort of trouble are you talking about ? |

What sort of trouble did you "run into"? Why can tyou use Eric the Hun? View Quote Nothing legal, I can assure you. It's just that folks have been coming up to my tables at the gun show 'looking for Eric' and getting met with quizzical looks. Meanwhile, REALERIC, is getting flustered![:D] I haven't told everybody that I'm online as 'Eric The Hun.' But if you and Goatboy think I should keep it... Well, they should just ask for "theHun" in that case. Don't change it.[;)]

Eric:
I don't think we could stand the change. Just wear the viking hat at the show and they will know who they are looking for. |

You could put it in the little () you like and be called something like:
(AR15.COM member formally known as ERICTHEHUN) and use [whacko] as your new trademark |

Seriously after meeting you, you can't change your name... although a bit confusing (I thought your NAME was eric for soooo long!) I wouldn't want it any other way...
Well maybe [XXX]TheHun if you want your true name shared... or perhaps just "TheHun"... that would work too... Why the sudden urge to change it anyhow? -- GoatTheHun(ter of tall blondes at nudie bars)Boy ]=) |

Funny, always wanted to change my name as well, but it seems kind of late now. Can we do that here? Do we have to request that Goatboy change it? Never seemed worth the trouble, but I like the idea.
How does one go about it? And no, ETH, you shouldn't change your name. Juggernaut(for now) |

You may recall a while back I agreed to watch your six if you were under attack. You said the "cavalry types" could do the "shoot and scoot" while you held the fort. If you change your name, how will I find you? Texas is a big state. I bet everyone knows where you are under that moniker, and could give directions to a Yankee who looked friendly, but was armed to the teeth. Please don't change it.

*nervously wondering if I have now insulted EricTheHun* View Quote Let not your heart be troubled, sweet child, you are not ever likely to say anything that would insult the old Hun. No, my real first two names are 'Wayne Henry.' My friends always call me 'Wayne' and my family calls me 'Henry' since I was named after my father. The 'Wayne' came from the childhood friend of my grandfather who went off together from Texas to fight in 'The Great War' as WWI was known back then. 'Wayne' never returned, and my grandfather named his son after his fallen friend. The 'Henry' part comes from my great grandfather, Henry Clay Hun. I've always thought that names should be given a whole lot more attention than they seem to be given nowadays. I named my daughter 'Lorelei' after a poem that my German-speaking great grandmother use to read to me when I was a child. And my granddaughter 'Kristin' was named for my great grandmother's own grandmother who died just after the family came over in the 1830s. We could never figure out the correct spelling of that grandmother's name, 'cause it appeared in so many variations - we just picked the 'most German' way of spelling it. Anyway, I guess that's why I get so hung up on even such a simple thing as a board name! Eric The(SomeWouldJustSay'AnalRetentive'AndLeaveItAtThat!)Hun[>]:)] |
