Haq was hung after being captured. Tried to request US help with his satellite communications system. Help arrived too late.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. Their are twenty northern alliance guys who have the same command ability and can be given the respect (if thats what they call it their) that this guy did. Those people will deal with whomever is in power. I am sure someone will raise to the occasions. Hell they all are veterans of the Soviet invasion. They all can lead their fighters. Because although respect works what works better is wanting to be on the winning side.
