99 Maxima 3.0L automatic...Whats the starter location, and is it a bitch to change?

I changed the starter on my sister's 95 Maxima (same engine and tranny) - IIRC, it was located on the forward-facing side. I had to remove the air cleaner and some of the plastic air intake ducting (Nissan LOVES the intake ducting! ), but it wasn't a particularly difficult job. I'm pretty sure everything was accessible from the top side of the vehicle - no need to crawl under it.
