How did I go my entire life without mortadella?

Admit it, you just want to be able to say "it's-a me, Mario!" without screwing up the accent.

In Italian, mortadella means "death by deli".

Look at it! That's suet in there.

(actually, I love it)

I would believe it.

The Food Network and The Sopranos ruined me by exposing me to the eyetie delights.  So when my sister flew in from NY for Thanksgiving, she brought me 5 lbs. of sausage, 2 lbs. of mortadella, 2 lbs. of prosciutto, 1 lb. of capicola and 1 lb. of sopressata...in her checked luggage.  I guess I'm damn lucky a dog didn't smell the meaty goodness.

Thank God for a Foodsaver!

It pretty easy to make good homemade Italian sausage.

Yeah, but very few people are interested once they find out what's involved in making sausage.

Thats one thing I miss about living in Boston, Medford specifically.  There was a deli called Bob's that had all those meats imported from Italy.  They have the best subs I've ever head.  Fresh tomato and mozzarella salad   On top of that they a couple chicks working there that were friggin awesome looking  Nobody knows what a canoli is out here either.

One of the good things about living in Philly (and there aren't too many) is that I can get that stuff at the drop of a hat.

Coincidentally, I was just looking at a Chickie's menu.  Gonna get me a nice hoagie for lunch.  Their regular Italian hoagie is genoa salami, coteghino, mortadella and provolone cheese on Sarcone's bread.  I'll probably get my favorite, which is the Chickie's special -- prosciutto, sopressata, dry cured capicola, roasted peppers, sharp provolone* and olive oil on a Sarcone's roll.  Yum.

*:  I'm lactose intolerant so I'll have to skip the cheese.

I wouldn't be able to fit back into the country.

Bed enough when I go to the beach and spend a week eating shrimp by the bucket.

By museums do you mean Italian women?  Just a guess.  I seriously don't know why every Italian person isn't a big fatty.  I know I would be if I lived there.

Do Italian women shave, or are they similar to French women?

I'd rather come back as a Mexican.  Mexican food is da bomb!

Love the food and the women are hot too.  Problem is, when the food and the women get together, the gals end up kinda round

Then again, the Italian women seem to live by the same model...

Asian women...living on Asian food, not American drive-through garbage...NOW we're talkin'!

Have dated a few Italian women. They do shave. Although some don't shave their arms, which means they have forearms as hairy as yours.

Dude...... that car above is calling me....

The Italian made cars have soul in 'em, from the moment you laid eyes in 'em, plop your ass on the bucket seats to hearing the sound of the motor, there is nothing like hearing the sound of a v12, you don't need a "sound system" in Italian made cars, the motor is the music....

Good luck.

I was lucky enough to spend my first three years in the Navy on the island of Sicily.

Now that I've been all around the world, I have to say that Sicily was easily, my favorite duty station.

The food, the wine, the coffee, the people, the sights, are unlike anyplace I've ever been.

Someday I'll take my wife there for a vacation.
